Unless they found a way to resurrect Red, many will say any hire is useless. This is the world we live in today. The negativity in all aspects of life today is sad and depressing.

Now bring in D’Antoni, Silas, and a couple younger bucks.
Agree with Silas and a couple younger bucks. I don't have positive feelings for Pringles, but could he help unlock the Jays further?
He could teach them NOT to dribble much and hold on to the ball that long. Same thing with Smart, not to walk the ball casually through half court.

Now give me Redick to fill the shooting coach void left by Sullivan. Then get either Silas or Derek Fisher.
D'Antoni would be great, but I'm not getting my hopes up - the dude is 72 yrs old so is probably done coaching at this point.
And I know most people say KG isn't a coach, doesn't want to coach. But IMO, if he ever takes a coaching job, it's for the Celtics, and it just so happens that we need to hire a few assistants AND we just hired Cassell (his close friend, who he played with in Minnesota and in Boston).
And he tweeted this before game 7 vs Miami:

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Re: Who Should We Hire for Assistant Coaches?
Cassell was an obvious choice:
-- Celtics ties.
-- Promoted by his former teammates in a way suggesting he wanted the job.
-- Vast experience, especially in that he had a long playing career first.
-- Has won.
Silas' dismal record of winning at any point(s) during his long career worried me. That said, I'd be happy to see him hired to work along Joe and Sam, if such a thing be possible, and if it doesn't cause a problem of "too many voices".

Well I’ll be damned that’s a very nice add to the coaching staff.

Some people just shouldn’t be posting.
Sam Cassel isn't moving the needle lol. You know that.
Wtf does this even mean. You thought we would get Phil Jackson as an assistant
I think it's pretty obvious what it means. Long as Joe is your coach, you're ****.
I don't care who they bring in to watch the Town with him.

...I do like Sam Cassel... But I would also like him more as the head coach..
Way more experience Than our current coach which includes about 16 years in the NBA or more As a player
At minimum should command way more respect than Joe..

2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Yey! Finally we have our new head coach hahah.
I wanted cassell before they hired udoka.
Cassell would be our new head coach! Book it!
It'd be great if there was some sneaky way we could fire Joe and just have Sam be the coach.
He's actually be in the league long enough to have connections to form a proper staff on the bench and have half of an idea of what a good staff would be to support him and this team.
Maybe just distract Joe, like point out a flower on the ground, that should be enough to do it for a couple of years. Then let Sam run things!

Re: Who Should We Hire for Assistant Coaches?
Very nice addition. I wanted Sam as a head coach when Brad left. At least he was in my top 3 coaching candidates that summer. Most of us here mentioned Sam Cassell more than the person that was hired that summer.
Sam is a champion with the Rockets and the 2008 Celtics. He was a clutch player. Smart guy. Good hire.
Baby steps to improvements. Let's go!

Re: Who Should We Hire for Assistant Coaches?
I wonder if Cassell brings over all the Sixers assistants too. That would be semi interesting. Good fail safe for when Mazzulla gets off to a bad start and they can just pivot.

I don't think assistant coaches get to hire assistant coaches but who knows. Maybe Sam Cassell is just built different.

Just sign Spo after he gets canned. Third straight Finals loss incoming. What a bum. Could still be a useful bum for us.

Re: Who Should We Hire for Assistant Coaches?
I didn’t think Sam would be available. And I’m honestly shocked he hasn’t gotten a shot as a HC anywhere yet. This is a fantastic hire. Probably in 2024, after the Celts win the whole thing.
