By who? Everyone has to understand the shots he's taking are/will be Herro's shots. Even if you talk about moving Herro, you're going to be bringing back probably another high volume shooter. Butler, Bam, Herro and even Martin are going to be taking 50-55 shots a night, that doesn't leave a whole lot of shots for everyone else... Martin, Robinson, Strus, Vincent, Lowry(or wheover you get from trading him) Love(if he's back), Jovic, 1st round pick, a backup 5. At some point you have to decide who your main scorers are and then pay less for roleplayers.... and also develop your next batch of low-priced guys like Jovic, Cain, Bouyea, Robinson, 1st round pick.
Don't let another 30-11 late season create more bad contracts.
Plus he's just not good. People fall for the small sample size every single time. In their minds a guy's best stretch is who he really is. Gabe didn't just start playing. Not for his career or for this season or even for this postseason.

Gabe is proving to be a badass. The way hes handling himself is top notch. Hes going nowhere. Butler has def rubbed off on him.

Off topic but Kyrie is trying to recruit Lebron to Dallas with Luka.

I was shocked to see Jokic scoring 41 points. I couldn't figure out how, because it didn't look like he scored a 40 point game on Bam. Bam made him work. Excellent Gabe all around. Ran plays for him to score and he capitalized on it.
Defensively...DAMN.
Pretty sure Jokic scored about 30 on Zeller.
I'm sure it just seemed that way. Just the same I don't want to see him play another minute. He's been absolutely brutal.

Idk what the solution is but it’s clear as day he can’t play anymore going forward. But he will unfortunately. We’re letting them back into the game or letting them build a big lead when we give him minutes

Who would make a better alternative? Yurt & Orlando haven't played and I imagine they would rack up crazy amounts of fouls quickly against Jokic, nulling any possibilty of improvement over Zeller. I do think Spo may want to match up Bam & Jokic a bit more. But if Bam is in foul trouble and/or needs rest, he doesn't have much of a choice.
Maybe Love for a those few minutes? Playing Zeller with Love until Jokic sits, then we play Zeller as the lone big? Look at me, advocating for small ball. How the turns have tabled.

Next year the salary cap is 134 million, the tax line is 162, Miami is at 172 million next year with 5 more spots open, there are penalties hitting the 2nd apron being 17.5 million over the tax line....(179.5 million with these numbers).
Spoiler:
So next year...
Butler 45 mil
Bam 32 mil
Herro 27 mi
Total for 3 players... 104 mil
Duncan 18 mil
Martin 7 mil
Oladipo 9 mil
Total for 6 players... 138 mil
Lowry 30 mil
Total for 7 players... 168 mil
Jovic 2 mil
Highsmith 2 mil
Total for 9 players... 172 million with 5 more slots needed (to get to the 14 man minimum) and not having Vincent, Strus, Love or Yurtseven signed. Teams do get 3 2-way players moving forward so there's more ability for teams to develop players.
Now... unless you can trade into someone's cap space Miami's going to have to bring back salary in a trade. Miami can go into the tax one year and watch 40 million expire(Lowry, Oladipo) but then Martin will opt out and need a bigger contract. Miami's in a really tough situation with the new CBA.

Still shaking my head the many that thought it was over because a fatigued Miami squad, coming off a 7gm series breathing that thin air had no legs to shoot in gm1. Same open looks gm2 & bang 48.6 % frm the arc & 48.7% from the field.
Unsustainable.

What’s the options here?
Lowry will be on an expiring so that could entice some teams who want some veteran leadership off the bench.
How Duncan is shooting the ball it could open up trades for him. But who knows?
You think Gabe and Strus are just gonna have to walk and sign else where since we can’t afford them?

Haha yea man idk! I would stagger love and Bam maybe. Sub love after 6 or 7 minutes with Caleb, then bring love back for bam to start the 2nd for 2-3 minutes. Maybe Highsmith somewhere. At least he can shoot and is very active defensively over Zeller

Lowry has to be moved somehow. His contract far outweighs his contributions. Finding a guy who is readier to contribute in the draft who we can groom as best as possible throughout the season makes sense financially.

Trade Herro
Trade Dipo (expiring if he picks up PO)
Trade Lowry (expiring)
Re-sign Vincent
Re-sign Strus
Sign a serviceable Power Forward in free agency
... and attempt to re-sign Kevin Love on the cheap if he wants to stay.
That's where I think that money should go.

I can’t wait to see Jovic and the grooming of our younger guys next season too, we definitely need a PG and a PF for next season though
