Sounds good. But I doubt Becky is taking another assistant job. At this point I would think she would only be a HC.

Another name I'm gonna throw out there: Patrick Ewing.

Just got fired by Georgetown. Probably just not cut out to be a HC. But could be a better fit as an assistant with less pressure, less scrutiny - he can just be one of the guys instead of THE guy.

And he can work with our big men.

Plus, he played HS ball right over in Cambridge.

Even though Ewing's Georgetown teams were bad, they still played very hard from the games I saw - they just didn't have the talent. And as a player, Ewing always left everything he had out on that floor - he'll make sure our guys do the same.

Cassell is a great pickup. Now let's get some other guys from this group: Rivers, Ewing, Posey, Rondo, Redick, Derek Fisher.

We know that Rivers and Cassell are boys. Cassell was Rivers' lead assistant and played for Doc in Boston. We also know Rivers and Ewing played together on the Knicks. Imagine a staff with Rivers, Cassell and Ewing...you got Ewing working with the bigs. Then you top it off with Redick to be the shooting coach. :)

Nothing to complain about with Sam. Has been around a long time and knows the game.

Glad they moved to quick on Cassell. Love that he won a championship here and is close with guys like Paul and Kevin (the more they’re potentially around our guys even in passing is probably a good thing.)

Think Redick would also be a really good add still and I’d be surprised if Silas still doesn’t come on board.

It's a bummer. But he clearly wants to be a "lead assistant" and I'm assuming we are giving that spot to Cassell.

Perhaps someone like Evan Turner, Rasheed Wallace, Rondo or Redick wouldn't mind if they were just an assistant and not the lead assistant.

Maybe Silas didn't want to Coach under Joe.. Also far less pressure in Detroit. They can suck for years before Detroit makes a move. Boston fans and media are already calling for a coaching change..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

It's possible, but he'd be behind Cassell and Joe here so I get taking the #2 spot in Detroit

Poach James Posey from the Wizards. Scal, Eddie House, and Perk are easy to get. We're already rumored to have Rondo on the bench. What's Gabe Pruitt doing nowadays?

Big Baby could be had for cheap. He could be the character development coach or nutritionist.

He wasn't on the 2008 team, but Ryan Gomes has been coaching in the Overtime Elite league. And he may be looking to leave, since the guy in charge of the coaches there (kevin Ollie) just took a job with the nets. So Gomes may jump ship as well - and an assistant job here would be a step up for him..

Are there any teams that need a #2 assistant right now? I'd imagine Charles Lee would be on their short list

Would be great to get him but going from being close to HC jobs to being a #3 here is kind of a step back for him

Didn't actually realize Cassell was coming from Philly. They played hard in that series, harder than Boston prob.

Plus lol at Harden in that drill, you can see he's leaving town in that video clip lmao.

Ok, let's go. Let's get Charles Lee next. Then get Redick to be the shooting coach, to fill the void left by Sullivan.
