To add to this, Banchero's highest-upside is to be the next Chris Webber, not the next Karl Malone.

A strategy that I like for this offseason is to use the draft for rising stars or quality starters for the backcourt.

Free agency and trades is where we look for upgrades at combo forward, combo big, and power center.

Internal options are
Power center: Goga
Combo big: Moritz
Combo forward: Bol, Isaac, Okeke

Who are some external options? Spacing and defensive versatility are key attributes imo.

I like Kyle Anderson for that combo forward do-it-all frontcourt vet.

Interesting article with quotes from other executives thinking what we could do. None of this is from our team which should go without saying
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Good share. GTJ and Grant Williams are interesting names. FVV makes sense. Interesting to think about them needing another season to evaluate "combo guards" Cole and Jalen.

Running it back with an eye on 2024 is also really interesting. Jaylen Brown, Domantas Sabonis, Paul George, Pascal Siakam, Kawhi Leonard and DeJounte Murray as 2024 offseason targets are really interesting to think about.

That is honestly a solid haul for Portland IMHO. Do we think Scoot will be a generational player? He is about to go 3rd after much debate about if Wemby wasn't in the draft he is the undisputed 1st.

I'm not sold that Scoot will even be an Allstar.

Markelle Fultz, PG, Orlando ($17,000,000 plus incentives; $2 million guaranteed): The Magic could bail on Fultz’s contract by waiving him before June 30, but it’s hard to see what they’d get out of it. The Magic project to have $22 million in cap room just by declining the three small player options noted above; it’s hard to imagine them needing more than that given their likely position in this summer’s market. Fultz isn’t quite worth $17 million given his shooting woes ($9.5 million BORD$ valuation), but he’s better than whatever the Magic could do with the room exception. Prediction: Not waived

People want to give him 25M+ lol. I agree that he is not worth 17M and should be waived if we can sign someone better. I guess its not only my opinion.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

That $$$ amount was EXACTLY what stood out to me. Front office view of Fultz and the fan base view are likely in opposite directions

if we need 17m to sign someone, cut that worthless scrub who played 14 games in 3 years

Fultz is the best PG on this team by a mile and far more valuable than isaac

Golden State prays Orlando does this. They better give us a first rounder to take that contract.
