I'd say it's pretty obvious it's Sergio.

If doug is right (who knows) i think he meant final interviews not second. Fischer well connected and said jordi and darko did their second interviews few weeks ago.

Raps are in final interview mode this week.

The Raptors’ slow search has involved bringing back several candidates for second interviews, sources said, including Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez and Grizzlies assistant Darko Rajaković. Much of the Raptors’ initial meetings have taken place over Zoom, while Toronto sent president Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster to visit former Raptors assistant Sergio Scariolo in Italy, sources told Yahoo Sports, where he currently serves as the head coach for Virtus Bologna. Atkinson is another name to monitor in the Raptors’ decision-making, sources said.

Toronto is not afraid to make an unconventional hire. The Raptors have already met with former player and current broadcaster JJ Redick and interviewed former Nets head coach and two-time MVP Steve Nash last week during the combine, sources said. While it’s unclear how seriously Nash will be involved in the Raptors’ process moving forward, multiple people familiar with the Hall of Fame point guard have indicated Nash is determined to learn from his shortcomings in Brooklyn, with a strong desire for another opportunity to lead an NBA bench in the future.

Jordi was also in the hunt for the Phoenix job so it could have been his agent floating fake rumours to bump his stock. Fischer just says whatever he hears without thinking about where it's coming from.

So if I read right the bold text above, Nash may aim for an assistant coach with the Raptors?

Fischer repeats everything he hears. He doesn’t get more intel than most of the connected guys, he just has a much lower threshold for what he reports on, partly because he’s trying to make a name for himself. At least, that’s been my
Impression of his reporting.

So it’s really hard for me to figure out how to read into his reporting, as opposed to a Windy or a Woj or a Shams for example where it’s pretty clear when they’re giving us the real deal and when they’re carrying water for someone.

He is third +300 with North Star Bet (Behind Scariolo and Fernandez). North Star is very slow to update.
He is second +125 with Bet Online (just behind Scariolo)

I am curious which platform you are using?

Hoping Atkinson gets the gig. Plus it will be a while till Sergio will be available considering his current commitments. We need to start prepping for the draft and the new coach needs to be part of that.

He's connected in league circles and reports what he hears. I don't have an issue with that. He's the tier below Shams / Woj. He has more insight than any of our local guys. Also, he already reported on Atkinson in this, where people are coming out with that news today.

Definitely. He’s not making stuff up. I’m just saying it’s easier for me to read the others. For example, Woj had a different tone on his reporting regarding Ime than Shams and it became pretty clear that Woj was carrying CAA and Ime’s side of things in the media trial. For guys like Woj, they’re either carrying water or they’ve really vetted a rumor and over time you get a sense of who he’s beholden to and a little research into his reports helps put context behind the reporting.

When it comes to Fischer, I have no idea how to diligence his reporting or put context to it. So I generally take what he says as rumors which probably have some truth. Though since it’s hard to really know what’s real and why he was fed the info, I don’t give them much weight. That’s all.

All he's reporting though is interviews and who's involved - all of which have been confirmed in the weeks after. So I would lean that his reporting on the coaching search has been accurate. Woj/Shams usually come in on the end when things are concrete and they get their news via their whatsapp group lol

Honestly I don’t give a f**k anymore. Hire the coach in September for all I care. This whole thing is so boring to follow and its dragging on way longer than it needs to be.

Those article quotes on Atkinson participating in scrimmages is legendary stuff. I want the guy just on the analytics alone, but him running point during practice and getting dunked on is like a whole other level of crazy attention to detail stuff.
