I think the big thing with Beal is the rule change that has lowered his ability to get to the line. He was getting to the free throw line 8 times a game before the rule change and now he's only getting to the line 4-5 times per game. Beal may have been getting to the free throw line less because of that incident he had with an official. That being said, he did make a slight adjustment and improved his overall efficiency in what was a down year from 2022.

PER is a useless stat in this context -- unless you shoot under 30%, your PER goes up every time you take a shot, even if you miss it. Thus, make or miss, shooting more makes you look better -- sorry, but no.

For about the first 1/3 of the season, Brad was having his best season -- ever! But then he went downhill, maybe b/c of injury...?

All the same, he turns 30 this month -- there's only one direction for him to go.

He could tread water and just be this good for a few years. Maybe stay healthy. There is a bit of an upside is that.

Given the very recent front office hires, I think it increasingly likely that we will be making a few trades before the start of the season. It is also likely that we make a couple of trades before next seasons trading deadline. One thing this collective group in the front office likes to do is amass draft picks. The makeup of the team will be so different by next mid-season, and I cant wait to see what it will look like.
This thread is quite apropos.
