As an FYI, KAT for Lillard is completely out of touch with the Blazers—not blaming you, since you’re likely not keeping close tabs on the organization.

For us that’s like us coming on to the Minny board and suggesting Nurkic for Edwards.

I doubt many teams would want any part of Towns' supermax extension.

Likely not many would want Dame's supermax extension either but Dame at least is a playoff

It is typical for fans to overvalue their own players. Dame is a legit superstar but he is not top 10, he is aging, and has an atrocious contract. I am not a Minnesota fan at all. And no it is not the same as a Nurkic for Edwards deal.

I gathered that you likely aren't a Wolves fan. Your response just further indicates that you are out of touch with how both organizations' FO and fans value their players.

While it's likely an overpay in later years, Lillard's "atrocious" contract make sense for a small market team like Portland, especially given the way the new CBA will limit multiple superstars on teams.

So NOT a fan of Towns. I just don't see him being twice as good as Nurkic, while being payed at least double. I would honestly rather take my chances hoping for a return of The BEAST.

It would be nice in some ways if he retired a Blazer. He’s passed Clyde’s scoring all-time record, and most here would agree he’s among the greatest, if not THE greatest Blazer to ever lace em up.

As for the 3rd pick…anything can happen, but it’s seeming more and more like the organization’s temperature is to just roll with the pick—as well they should. Rookies that produce are going to have even more value starting next year than they already do.

Yeah, I think keeping the pick is likely the right move at this point, both from a financial and talent standpoint. I also think both Scoot and Miller are going to be Day 1 contributors, so both are going to bring positive on-court help. Then adding to that their value contracts, it just makes a ton more sense than flipping either of them for a guy like Siakam.

As for Dame, I think his decision will come down to what they’re able to do outside of the draft. Portland still has a chance to make a few post-draft trades that could really help shape a competitive roster. I don’t think Dame is going to make any decisions on his future until he sees what the final roster is going to look like going into the season. If there’s not veteran level help on the bench and at least one semi-splashy move made (maybe something along the lines of DeRozen or OG for Simons and picks) outside of the #3 pick, that’s when I see Dame bailing, but if the team is making moves to keep the team with vets on it, I think he’s going to stay.

I actually think that much will be decided at the trade deadline--if the team isn't showing out for Lillard, he might request a trade. That's both good and bad for Portland. 1) It lowers his value. 2) There will be desperate teams wanting to add Lillard to put them over the hump...could be a bit of a bidding war.

I'd actually like to see Dame traded to a contender, rather than having rotted in mediocrity his whole career in Portland. Even if he's up there with those elite level agers, like Kidd, Stockton and Nash, he'd only have 3 years left of high level play.

Most players are in the twilight of the career by 33. If on the other hand, he suddenly drops off, will we be able to unload him and his massive contract? And we'll have passed up the #3 for what?

I can't see one realistic win now move if Sharpe is untouchable and 3 is only available for an elite player.

If Miami fails to win the title, I could see them pushing in all their chips and offering up a Lillard
trade built around Tyler Herro, with a goal of building a core of Dame, Jimmy and Bam.

Presumably Miami's pick (18) would be one of those MIami picks for Portland deals and there would
be the usual future picks/swaps with Herro being spun off to a third team

If Dame asks out, I think Miami can build a feasible package. Ideally w/ Herro to ORL for 11 and tons of draft capital to PDX.

Basically turning Dame into Duncan Robinson, Jovic, 11, 18 and a number of future UNP FRP. Its not ideal, but we are not sending him to a spot that isnt a contender IMO. We will accommodate within reason.

Jovic is a legit prospect. Many saw him as a Top-10 guy at the start of the 21/22 season. Could be Gallo caliber IMO. Actually got some run in Preseason and showed out (16mpg, 9.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 3apg, 1spg, .6bpg).

I really think Portland would allow Dame to go to a team that is intact, to maximize his chance at winning a
title.

I do think they'd prefer taking back as little money as possible with most of the return being future picks/swaps

Ya, the above does that w/ Herro going to ORL. And IMO it overwhelmingly leaves MIA intact (Dame replaces Herro, Duncan a luxury w/ their wing depth + overpaid, Jovic not getting minutes).

I feel like it’s actually the definition of ideal.

And tbh, I feel like Herro is worth the 6, so even better for you guys if that’s the case.

Lowry, Herro, Jovic, #18, 2027 1st, 2029 1st, Swaps in 24, 26, 28

I don’t know what type of value we could get for Herro or Simons but my guess would be something between #8-#13

I donno…

Just curious what Blazers fans think of this proposal… go easy on me;

Heat trade:

G Kyle Lowry
G Tyler Herro
F Caleb Martin
F Nikola Jovic
2023 1st Round Pick #18 Overall
2027 1st Round Pick

Blazers trade:

G Damian Lillard
G Keon Johnson
F Nasir Little
F Jabari Walker

As a side note, I’d move Simons for Joe Harris, #21, and #22.

G Scoot Henderson/Kyle Lowry
G Tyler Herro/Jordan Hawkins
F Shaeden Sharpe/Joe Harris/Rayan Rupert
F Caleb Martin/Nikola Jovic
C Jusuf Nurkic/Noah Clowney

Not ideal as I would prefer a youngster that has proven something - and while I think Jovic is going to be a good player, he has not proven anything.

But if something happens, I would bet on Miami above everyone else.
