Steph Klay Draymond making $110M together and the lineup of the big 3 + Looney didn’t hold up against the Lakers. And they are mumbling about the bench when talking about the team’s playoff failure.

Kerr playing 12 guys whole season and mumbling about some guys then mumbling about guys not having “winning mentality” and minutes problem etc. Spo basically played 8 or so guys meaningful minutes and they eventually figured it out. Kerr mumbling others failing him, instead of him failing to set the team up.

These guys they will give lip service about “it’s on me” but when you are a die hard fan, and listen and read every word they say, I don’t think any sane fan would feel they are owning up their failure, and not just blaming it on others.

They wanted to trade Wiggins and assets for Bradley Beal.

So much of this. These dudes have become ossified and bitter in decline and have lost sight of what their own egos and examples have wrought and are burning integrity trying to polish their turds and hiding from accountability.

It’s becoming really hard to consider investing much in following this cast going forward. They are wasting my remaining time with Curry and I’m really starting to resent them for it.

Everyone knows that Looney and Draymond can't finish most games together, so it's either Looney or Draymond at this point and not both of them. We've never found that 5th complimentary player. Sometimes it's been GP2 sometimes it was OPJ the last year but we've never replaced OPJ.

I haven't looked at the 2024 class but it seems like there's a lot of bigs and big wings at the top of the draft may not be a bad time to tank ...

Though I think 2025 may be better with cooper flagg

Don't get me wrong, Poole's been terrible for most of the year, but I'd say the core + Kerr should take full accountability for how piss-poor their performance and decision-making had been all season. Rather than diverting and using Poole as the scapegoat.

Klay signed before his 2nd injury and the contract extension was a no brainer at the time. Dray’s contract has been a bargain.

Has it? Dray was benched in the Finals, destroyed our team chemistry which was pointed by his biggest supporter (Kerr) as the primary reason why we stunk, and he of course stunk when we were terrible in ‘20. In fact if he was better that season maybe we dont end up with the #2 pick and take someone like Vassell, Haliburton, or even Deni.

Thanks again Draymond.

You are looking at it wrong. Yes, they signed and won in 2022, before this season's disaster.

However, any responsible human being making such a big pay check, relative to his teammates, would not say it is others fault when the team as a whole failed, and when they themselves are on the court, they also sucked (Draymond Klay Steph +/- is -7.7 when all 3 are on the court during the Lakers series).

The Golden State Warriors team chemistry was crap this year and pointed by the head coach as primary reason why we did not play well. The Coach indicated it started with Draymond clocking his teammate.

Thanks again Draymond.

That may speak as much to the poor quality of replacement options available this year as Draymond's prowess though. You're looking at Lamb, JMG, Kuminga, and PBJ. Yeah, there's going to be a big drop-off, even though I still think Draymond is a net positive (but more on the defensive end because he does collapse spacing somewhat on offense).

The big 3 choked against the Lakers. Plain and simple.

Again, the bench could be better, for sure. But the big 3 (who made $115M this season), and Kerr shouldn't mumble anything about the bench, or any other player other than the 3 of themselves.

They need to look at the mirror, not others.

None of the "bench" made more than $6M except GP2, which is only a fraction of the big 3's pay.

They sound like a CEO blaming the contracted janitors on the company's failure.

Way more than calling anyone out, he sounds like he is defending his use of Anthony Lamb. But going on Draymond's podcast is never a good look for anyone. :banghead:

It's the coach's job to instill confidence and develop young players. I don't think Kerr did a good job with that. Especially JK.
But you had two guys pretty openly frustrated, three actually. Poole, JK and Jamychel. All it takes is one disgruntled player to poison a locker room. That with the obvious double standard (mostly justifiable: 4 rings) by Kerr didn't help.
The punch obviously didn't help things either.
I think Kerr could have done a better job of instilling a healthy amount of competition between the old and young guys.
Turn the ball over three times? time out, sub. Here comes JK, JP, etc. The punch messed with that.

Here's where I agree with Kerr. Team first, stop whining and know your role. Execute what we want, and you play.

I don't know why he chose to say what he said, at this time of year, on DG's podcast of all places.
Is that going to help JP/JK to buy into the process going forward?
Is that going to help improve their trade value?
Is that directed at the FO?

Just to clarify: I like Kerr, think he's a good coach, and should remain coach. Like any human, he could improve.

Look players want things for their own careers and where those things aren't compatible with a coaches system you usually need the coach to win or the player to leave. That's how it goes. No crying over that.

But people talking about Poole or JK or JMG "poisoning" a locker room where Draymond tried to cave a guy's head in and the vets voted not to let the coach/GM punish him and Klay was single handedly tanking games out of shape, rubber legged and selfishly chucking for 40 games is LAUGHABLE. This locker room was poisoned. It was poisoned by the vets and impotent coaching/management that enabled them. And now we got Kerr whining that guys didn't cheer loud enough for Anthony Lamb from the bench.

The fallout you see at the end of the rotation is the team responding to the quality of the leadership they have been given. Kerr has his head up his ass and shirking his own accountability. Disease of more.

You nailed it IMO.

The vets are responsible for the titles and the dynasty, thank you guys very much, but they are also responsible for the **** show of a year we just watched.

The reality is that the core is not good enough to surround with vets, who need to be a very specific type of player and at a bargain price, to compete for a title anymore.

I'm ready for the post Draymond era and if they can get something for an expiring Klay I'm cool with that as well.
