Jo has to hold this L on his chest

Lot of sneak disses towards others only to go out sad…

Love the big guy and if he wasn’t on the team I wouldn’t care as much. But he has to feel this **** in his soul

Jokic winning better eat away at him lol

Embiid doesn't have to play like Jokic to get far and he couldn't if he tried. They are two different bigs with different skillsets. Embiid was way too focused on the MVP reg. award when he should of been focused on the end game - finals MVP. He needs to refocus, sharpen his advantages and tighten his weaknesses, watch alot of film on himself and the best bigs like Tim Duncan and Hakeem(not Kobe &KD) and drop atleast 10 pounds.

When you watch Jokic play you see a player who has played basketball all his life, very high bball IQ and enjoys getting his teammates buckets. He has a high arching shot that is extremely hard to contest and his touch around the basket is tops. He knows how to use his wide body to carve out space for himself whether it's to get a basket or a rebound , that's why it doesn't matter that he's slow and can't jump high.

I honestly thought it was even or slight edge to Embiid before this season but its crystal clear to me now. Maybe it will light a fire under Embiid. The idea of Embiid having 10 triple doubles in a single playoffs based on his post season track record is unfathomable. I would go so far as to say that if Embiid played like Jokic has this post season we would be likely champions. If I was Nick Nurse my to do list for Embiid would be for him to come into the season in the type of shape Jokic is in and focus more on rebounding and making his teammates better then forcusing on scoring so much. We don't need him to score 32 points a game. Id rather see him average 26 and get 12-14rebs and 6-7 assists per game.

I wish we could stop the Embiid-Jokic comparisons, as it's apples and oranges and only brings out the 'pile on Embiid' usual suspect trolls. They are entirely different players whose training and approach are 180 degrees removed from one another.

I've been saying all along that if Embiid concentrated on his strengths on the defensive end of the floor, became a rim protecting and rebounding monster, became a 2nd-3rd, end of shot clock option focused on the offensive glass, and put up 25-13-4 type numbers, he would win DPOY and be a player you could build a championship team around.

As is, he's a perennial all star and MVP candidate who will always be a player you can scheme against and neutralize in playoff series when defenses are locked in, and will go to the HOF never having played in a Finals.

If Nurse can somehow sell this to him, that he's got his MVP and now it's on to the one prize he's never achieved, and to not work on adding things to his 'bag' or his 3 pt. shot, but instead to get in the best shape of his life and become the DPOY, then there's no doubt that a championship team can be built around him.

I wouldn't count Miami out yet. They lost game four at home to Boston by 17 points, lost two subsequent games in a row, and then won game seven in dominant fashion to win that series.

Any change of the above-noted nature in Embiid necessitates the acquisition of a player the offense can run through, and/or a developmental leap by Tyrese Maxey such that that player is him. A shift in Embiid's game to that degree before such a player is part of the team would be counterproductive.

Embiid and Fatboy isn't even a rivalry. The national media has tried to make it one to no success. They don't even dislike each other. Embiid and Horford is a bigger rivalry than Embiid and Fatboy.

Why would the amount of triple doubles be the litmus test on whether Embiid is better than Jokic? The argument in Embiid's favor is his defense and scoring. I think Jokic is currently the more impactful player and should win the Finals MVP.

Agree, there is no comparison because Jokic is so much better it's not even funny.

Only defense, Jokic is a better scorer in playoffs, he would probably be too in RS if he tried to score more (but we can't extrapolate volume scoring like that), but in playoffs it's plain evident. And while Embiid is a better defender, he can't sustain his defense for long anyway, and in 4th quarters in playoffs his defense is mediocre.

"Fatboy", as you say, is about to have a ring and a Finals MVP in a week or less.

Nurse is going to have to make Jo okay with playing with moving targets.

Couldn't care less what he wins or doesn't win. Never did. It has nothing to do with anything Philadelphia.

Heat remain 3.5-point underdogs at home tonight, with a 29% probability of winning, and odds for the Heat's winning the series are now at +650.

The real way the Nuggets have built a team to last. They keep adding through the draft.

A shame the Sixers have no draft picks this year, they could've sold a couple to pay for a Josh Harris helicopter appearance.

Prove my cynicism wrong and go out and buy a 2nd rounder or two this year, Josh.

He fired Doc with multiple seasons left on his deal and presumably gave Nurse a ton of money :dontknow:

Which is why the cheap bastard will not shell out to buy picks even though he burned through all of our assets with his worthless brain trust.

Hope he proves me wrong but I doubt it.

If nothing else it can't hurt to try to neg him into doing it.

Speaking of which, does feel like a good year to be able to buy a pick (although I don't know if it's a good year prospect-wise to burn the roster spot)

Let’s be real had Denver not choke a 15 point last quarter lead in game 2 this would have been a sweep. Denver is starting to look like a mini dynamic dynasty

Denver is bigger, more athletic, just better. The Heat are relying on 3's and frenzied 4th quarter rallies, but if the Nuggets just make them make tough 2's and don't turn it over, they win.
