Not sure if you watch but those Nikolaj scenes in Brooklyn 99 got me brainwashed.

I don’t know know you could watch DC and Nurse for years and not see a difference.

What has Nurse accomplished that Doc hasn't ?

It's straight lunacy, DC should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Nurse.

I was trying to remember a more unproffessional exit from a coach and all I can think of is Jason Kidd to the Bucks and trying to overthrow the Nets management, then the Bucks coahcing staff. Can anyone think of another instance of a coach being that unprofessional and quitting on his team?

Butch Carter, although that was more prelude to an exit.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Smitch had some stories follow him on the way out. Body slamming the teams superstar not a great look.

This was actually pretty tame. I think NN wanted an extension offer last off-season and into this season. When it became clear that wasn't happening and he was losing the players he felt he had to shift the narrative. Obviously it didn't work. Taking advice from Klutch is usually a bad call.

Still have to give Nick his flowers. He won a chip and was a very inventive coach. Wishing him success in Philly (unless they play us).

We had coaches fighting players and breaking lamps in hotels. Other teams had coaches banging management wives lol... Most unprofessional? Not even remotely, if at all.

Nurse won a championship... Man will get a standing O

Breaking lamps or a fight is worse than publically quitting on your team down the stretch? We have very different opinions of what is unprofessional, or what remotely means.

Udoka fits though.

Udoka sleeping with a co-worker's wife, being told to stop, and not stopping and then harassing the woman after she broke it off seems more unprofessional than talking about taking a few weeks off to think about whether he still wants the job.

You're either unprofessional or not, it's binary not a sliding scale.

Talking about your future career prospects in a team interview during the end of season playoff run stretch is a **** joke.

I ran into an old post-game interview during our championship run. In it Kyle talks about how Nurse asks players what they think of his schemes and stuff, asking for feedback. I do appreciate that 1st year run we had. It seems like that version of Nurse disappeared after the 1st season.

What are you talking about? The season after Kawhi left, Raptors again finished with the second best winning percentage in the league, again swept the top team in the West and eventual champion (Lakers) in their season series, had the second best defensive numbers in the league despite not having a single player named to the all-defense team, and Nurse won COY. His coaching against Brad Stevens in the EC semi-finals was even the subject of a youtube video,

Nurse was flawless that season, at least until the fourth quarter of Game 7 when he pulled his legit bigs out of the rotation and kept putting the ball in the hands of Siakam, who kept fumbling it away. It honestly occurred to me at the time that Nurse was purposely sabotaging the game (and series) to prove some sort of point to Masai. No other explanation made sense. Trip after trip down the floor, Siakam was accomplishing nothing.

Anyhoo, bye Nick. Hope the door didn't hit you in the ass on your way out. On second thought, I hope it did.

I don’t get the hostility. He was great for awhile but had a shelf life. It is okay to be friends with your ex. Remember the good times.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

That's pretty cool and much better than any goodbye some of us felt we needed.

Return to Toronto Raptors
