We barely have any media willing to counter the corporate bottom line.

At least Gery’s willing to do that.

Also moar RealGM fodder.

If it’s remotely true that Horst was overruled on Nurse that seems like it could be a deal.

Everyone’s performance should be under a microscope at this point.

Couldn’t stand Prunty last time he was here, especially when he was interim coach

The telling part is the "An NBA official said..." - some random Sacramento executive has no idea what the process is in Milwaukee because he's responsible for season tickets, but you can't put "a Bucks official" because there's not 5 guys in the organization who would talk to Gery's disgraced ass.

So, he hears something from some longtime scout for the team or whatever "Yeah, I think they really liked Monty" and he makes up some stupid quotations for his Sports blog that looks right out of 1998. The organization that turned off his access years ago looks bad and his little chode grows a semi-chub all at once.

I dunno man, that's a hell of a jump. I never saw the interview, so thanks. Rare for him to be as candid as that and surprised this is the first I saw it, but BR/dr is a habit hard to shake.

Idk what br/dr is but at minimum it's selfish and immature to be worried about your dumb individual awards heading into the playoffs. He can talk about that all off season. Very Rodgers-esque ... which is why I thought we still needed a Championship experience type coach to check that stuff in and not a player's coach yet.

The only acceptable comment in that situation is, "Right now, I'm worried about the Bucks getting another championship not individual awards -- ask me in July what I think about that." He should let his agent or someone else lobby for that anyways -- looks petty.

I try to make my team successful. That’s what I get paid for. That’s what I’m here for.

You're just going to gloss over this part to push your line?

br/dr = Bleacher Report/didn't read. BR assimilated into the sports reporting borg so it's not as unyielding a rule as it was.

I'm not saying I love how limp our local media is, but contrarianism isn't a virtue on its own.

The Sampson stuff was 100% false since it doesn't even fit the timeline. Sampson only made it to the first round of interviews and the next day got an extension.

This. It’s pretty widely understood that the Bucks were doing Sampson a favor by interviewing him so he’d get a big extension. He probably provided some good intelligence based on film study he did in exchange.

There’s a zero percent chance they offered him the job considering he didn’t make the final round and didn’t have a meeting with Giannis and Midds, which means Gery’s entire article is immediately suspect.

The “NBA source” is probably still Caron Butler.

21-16 and lost in 7 games to Boston (who had Tatum, Brown, Smart and Horford along with Rozier) with Thon as a starter and a bench of Snell and Terry bothered you that much?

Creating suspect stories that are in reality hit pieces against the Bucks organization is the equivalent of tabloid journalism, his stories often do not pass the common sense test. He is an awful excuse for a professional journalist. Gery’s propaganda should be used only as a way to start a fire when the kids are asking for s’mores
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.
