I’d be ecstatic to get Bridges, but I think it’s cost us more than #2.

I'd much rather the #2 than current NBA darling Mikal Bridges. Prior to the last 6 months everyone would be laughing at this idea.

Mikal Bridges is the new fan fav, he has no expectations to do well so he can't disappoint. As soon as someone trades a top 3 pick for him that fades, it quickly becomes can he lead you to playoff victories tomorrow. Not let him develop for 3-4 years and try to become an allstar.

I wouldn't be mad at it, but it is paying top dollar for what he did for 30 games. Prior to that he was seen as a good role player, not sure it is worth the gamble unless you think he still has potential to take that next next step.

Yeah if this year is who he is moving forward sure. He had 4 years of averaging 8-14 ppg before Suns cast him into a premier role. Then even more by a sub .500 Nets team, not saying they should have been winning but they were pretty bad post trade.

So it is 310 games vs 82 games. Guys improve for sure, and that is likely the case here. Just think the pricetag for him right now is rather high if you look at full scope of his career.

I agree that Bridges is being overrated by the NBA community in general. I remember him turning invisible during the Mavs series.

If we were anywhere close to contending then I see it as a fine trade. Doing it with our current personel though would be rushing back to the threadmil.

They are concerned about the future of zion, does he really want to be in new orleans, is he committed to the franchise, plus all the other reasons to maybe be doubting him as a player, not to mention his Instagram mess from yesterday lol

Would the Hornets ever entertain some type of package for Zion which includes sending scoot back to New Orleans?

Nah, we aren't close to the right market for Zion. He could be awesome, but he also could want to leave 8 months later.

He is from Spartanburg, so maybe being close to home helps him.

But I wouldn't trade for him because he has shown no ability to stay healthy and seems to be immature.

I think at this point the #2 holds a ton more value than Zion due to immaturity and injury. I would maybe consider Hayward, #2 and #41 for Zion, #14 and the Lakers pick. This lets them out of his salary and we bank on him coming closer to home reseting his career while also giving us some cover for him not recovering. He and Melo could be a huge win for us if he can get right and put in the work he needs to put in.

If I thought Zion would find the motivation to get his **** together being closer to home I'd be all in to trade for him. I highly doubt that would happen though so I'm a no.

He's the most disappointing player ever for me since I was old enough to start following the NBA in the mid 1990's. The amount of talent he has that is seemingly going to be wasted is beyond sad. I don't even know of an appropriate word to describe it.

Zion has a max contract. Melo is going to get a max. Correct me if I'm wrong but with the new CBA it'd be hard to build a team around 2 max contracts. Granted brown and tatum are going to get the super max thats the same conundrum the Celtics are going to find themselves in. Except they stay relatively healthy and play more than 30 games a year.

I had talked about Zion with some friends not too long ago (before the whole instagram mess) and we mostly kind of agreed we wouldn't do a deal centered around Zion for #2. It's tempting because the chances you get a player better than Zion with this pick are like .01%. He's legitimately a top 7-8 player in the league when he's on the floor and would pretty easily be the best player we've ever had in the games that he's available. I can see talking yourself into load managing him and having him play like 50 regular season games but have him ready to go for the playoffs.

All that being said, just keep #2. I simply do not think his body can keep up with his play style. He's so big but so athletic it has to be tough on his body.
