I don't think I'd gamble with Zion... so that's a no go.
BI + Daniels + 14 <=> 3 + Ant ?
Is that being too greedy?
Actually, is there another team that would like BI better that Portland?
Any chance to flip BI for KAT or Siakam?

Re: Twitter Trade Rumor Roundup
BI has two years left on his deal for around $70 million and quite likely would be looking
for another extension.
Guy has missed a lot of games for he's only played 70 games once in his entire career
I think if Miller is there at 3, Portland just picks him at 3. He however doesn't seem to be
working out for anyone which presumably means Miller expects to go to Charlotte.
Scoot has to play PG which means he might be a worse fit alongside of Dame. One can't
blame Portland if Portland is determined to keep Dame, if 3 gets traded. Hopefully they
won't take one of these guys who is on the last year of his deal
for another extension.

It's an interesting concept. I don't think #3 and Simons should be packaged together, personally. I'd much rather see them separated to spread value. If the Blazers could work out a #3 for KAT and Simons for DDR, then the Blazers would have:
Lillard/Mays
Sharpe/Thybulle
DDR/Thybulle
Grant/____
KAT/Gresham
...which I think puts them in WCF if everyone stays healthy. Obviously win now, which will be EXPENSIVE, risky and impossible to get out of in the new CBA if it doesn't work...also that is A LOT of high USG players needing shots. If it fails, the Blazers have Sharpe/Grant/Kat as their nucleus.
Blazers obviously don't need Ingram if they are resigning Grant. I think if KAT is coming in, then Nurk has to be on his way out--I can't see them both on a team.

I don’t think I’d trade Scoot if he’s available to us, but if we were Ingram, Zion, Murphy, Jones, Daniels ,#14, their future Lakers & Bucks picks… there’s a lot there to work with.
However if we’re taking Ingram or Zion back I don’t see why they’d have any interest in Nurkic or Simons as salary filler so it would have to be a multi-team deal

I would take Murphy, one of Daniels / Herb, 14, 2024 NO or LAL FRP (Better of the 2), 2025 NO FRP and 2027 MIL FRP for #3.
Then still do Simons for DDR + PDX FRP returned.
Then use Nurkic, 14, 2024 FRP (Better of PDX / NO / LAL) for Myles Turner.
G - Damian Lillard / Dyson Daniels
G - Shadeon Sharpe / Matisse Thybulle
F - Demar DeRozan / Trey Murphy
F - Jerami Grant / Nas Little
C - Myles Turner / Drew Eubanks
+ 2025 NO FRP
+ 2027 MIL FRP
+ Regain rights to all future PDX FRP

Re: Twitter Trade Rumor Roundup
Going to need filler if BI is in the deal for 3
It'll be interesting to see what type of late offers will be on the table for Portland
if Scoot gets to 3. Remember its still a star driven league, so if Portland settles
for depth pieces and future FRP for 3, its a recipe for a team that will lose in the
first round of the playoffs.

Re: Twitter Trade Rumor Roundup
It's clearly obvious Pels got excited about the idea of pairing Zion with Scoot. I'm just not sure how they can assemble a reasonable deal though.
They don't have much of attractive assets because most of their squad is absolutely mediocre albeit being young.

Tbh Ingram is an even worse option than Zion in terms of risk/reward ratio. His durability is not great either and he's not a legit all-star level player at this point.

I'd likely to turn them away here although I have to admit Ingram is a nice example of what kind of player Miller might turn into in a couple of years

can't agree with that. I don't think there is any reward in a Zion risk/reward equation. It's all risk
now, it's true that Ingram has trouble stating healthy, but he's averaged 60 games a season while Zion has averaged 28. And Zion has shown no discipline at all in getting hie weight under control, And his contract is ridiculous and by next season could be viewed a one of the worst contracts in the league
saw in another forum a suggestion of #3 to Pels and Simons to Orlando; #11, #14 & Ingram to Portland. That's has the makings of a decent trade.

No way Orl deals Franz.BlazersBroncos wrote:Norm2953 wrote:No shortage of Blazer deals for everyone is proposing to dump all their big contracts onto
the Blazers in these win now trades.
I do think Portland would deal 3 for someone like Bridges who is signed for more than one
season on a good contract. Short of getting a real solid player on a good contract, Portland
is going to keep pick 3 for there are no secrets when it comes to picking in the top 3.
Let's see when push comes to shove, if Houston, Detroit and Orlando make an offer to get
Scoot, that makes Portland think about it.
Houston: Eason + 4 for 3
Detroit: Duren + 5 for 3
Orlando: Wagner + 6 for 3, 23, 43
Wagner for 3 is closer than that deal.
If we come out of the draft with a Franz level guy at 3, I would be ecstatic. The dude is a stud.

I do think the BI thought has a chance at working for he at least is two years away from an
extension
Interesting how adamant the Magic fans are against trading Wagner. If they truly believed
Scoot was going to be an AS level PG, you trade good but hardly elite players players like
Franz. Then again if Portland also believed Scoot would eventually develop into an AS level
player, they would not trade the pick that gets that player.

Would you trade Sharpe for Scoot? I wouldn’t.
Wagner is the same line of thinking but for ORL fans. And honestly much more proven than Sharpe. A 6’9 pure SF with a + handle, improving 3PT shot, + defense, unselfish and some wild 4th quarter stats last year (Like top 10 in points scored in Q4). Going to be 22 next year.
His On/Off last year for a poor / tanking team was +10.2. That’s a tremendous indicator of his impact and talent.
He has as much, if not more, value than Sharpe and few Blazer fans would deal SS for #2.

Re: Twitter Trade Rumor Roundup
The thing is though, Scoot does play at a premium position on the court.
I'm not convinced SS should be in the same conversation for he's got to prove himself
in games that really matter. Last year at this time, most of this board was much higher
on Ant and just look at his stock this summer.
There is no mistake however most of the trade talk involving Portland involves SS and 3
and its quite possible Toronto would trade OG + Pascal for SS and 3 (with other guys
going out in filler).
I'd caution about expectations for SS for let's say Portland traded 3 for Bridges. Between
Dame, Grant and Bridges, just how many scoring opportunities would Sharpe get with 3
ball dominant players ahead of him?

Re: Twitter Trade Rumor Roundup
For what it's worth, Marang who's pretty plugged in does not believe the Blazers would have as much interest in BI and this would have to be Zion (with Dame's sign-off) if they make the deal. He doesn't believe BI is a big enough needle mover for Portland, especially with what else they need to give up. Also - if Zion is really available here - it would need to be a multi-team deal since the Pels won't have much interest in Ant w/ Scoot and CJ. Possibly Orlando is a fit here since they've called about getting Ant every year he's been in the league.
The Blazers thinking according to Marang based on people in the league he's talked to, they and many people in the league believe Scoot is a generational talent, so if you trade him, you better get a generational-level All NBA talent back in the deal.

That Miami Heat moderator who keeps arguing the Heat doesn't need Dame might be having
second thoughts after watching game 5 in Denver.
In a last second situation with Dame and Jimmy Butler, those guys would be lethal.

Re: Twitter Trade Rumor Roundup
Finally the season is over and we can all wait 11 days for the draft. I fully expect the team to sign
Jerami Grant and the team will look for more reinforcements up front.
Team will presumably shop Ant for the team as constructed is expensive with 4 guys making around
$120 million. I think they'd do Ant + Nurk for Ayton and Phoenix might end up having to do that deal
and Simons in a catch and shoot with KD and Booker might get a lot of open looks.
