Wade went from 27 to 26 the first season with LeBron then down to 22 when his knees gave up on him lol. Dame will be the 1st scoring option on the team, he might not average 32 but to say he’s going to drop to 22-23 or whatever you said is wrong

Ok, let's get Dame. Im not against it. It's just not a sure bet in my eyes and I'm not sure we can even fit him in the cap.

-SHULA

We would be trading for him.

How do you think we wouldn't be able to fit him in the cap? We have two players in Herro and Robinson that match his salary that are both being paid for the next 3-4yrs.

I can guarantee if Miami trade for Lillard they will find a way to re-sign at least one of either Gabe or Strus and we'll have something like this next season.

Lillard/Gabe?
Strus?/Oladipo
Butler/Highsmith
Martin/Jovic
Bam/Love

And you know Miami going to find some Vet min guys or undrafted talent that will be able to contribute.

For sure! They wont have issues getting guys in here. If Gabe leaves get Pat Bev, if Strus leaves maybe JRich? Alec Burks had a really good shooting season, would love to get him. There will be plenty out there

I don't know if we can pencil in Oladipo. He can't be relied upon.

I'd say:

Lillard / Vincent / Dragic (in the UD role plus can actually play if called upon)
Martin / Vet SG / Cain
Butler / Robinson / 2-way
Vet 3 & D PF / Highsmith / 2-way
Bam / Jovic / Vet PF/C e.g. Love

Realistic candidates for that Vet SG spot: Seth Curry, Svi Mykhailiuk, Danny Green, Justin Holiday, Alec Burks, Hamidou Diallo, Donte Divincenzo, Lonnie Walker IV, Wes Matthews, Austin Rivers, Josh Richardson, Shake Milton, Terrence Ross, Josh Okogie, Terence Davis, Romeo Langford, Will Barton, Kendrick Nunn.

Realistic candidates for the Vet 3&D PF: Jae Crowder, Chimezie Metu, Joe Ingles, Grant Williams (would have to be a S&T likely), Christian Wood, JaMychal Green, Oshae Brissett, Wenyen Gabriel, Jalen McDaniels, Paul Reed, Torrey Craig, Trey Lyles, Keita Bates-Diop,

Realistic candidates for Vet PF/C: Mike Muscala, Andre Drummond, Robin Lopez, Dwight Powell, Jeff Green, Thomas Bryant, Naz Reid, DeAndre Jordan, Boban Marjanovic, Frank Kaminsky, Tristan Thompson, Jaxon Hayes, Willy Hernangomez, Mo Wagner, Jock Landale, Drew Eubanks, Alex Len, Damian Jones, Taj Gibson.

There's enough there to round out a roster of vet minimum guys in depth positions at any rate.

He might have scored more points and put up some nice stats on a total trash team this season, but Lillard has never been, and never will be, the best PG as long as Steph is in the league lol.

This Lillard stuff may be much ado about nothing. He was asked a hypothetical question & answered Miami of the 4 teams. Big deal. It doesn't mean sh*t.

A player like Lillard is the final piece we need. A hungry, ringless, seasoned, scoring vet but I don't wanna play this game again after having our hearts broken w/ Giannis & KD to end up w/ nothing. I'll wait to be excited after any Woj announcements & dependable confirmations.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

I just put him there because he's on the roster and likely opting in.

I think we likely let Gabe go and re-sign Max.

Lillard/Lowry
Strus/Martin/Oladipo
Butler/Highsmith
Jovic/Love
Bam/Yurt

That's the guys I expect to be here if we make a trade for Lillard to start the season, outside of anyone else we sign for Vet min or undrafted guys.

Then I could see us trying to move Lowry and Oladipo's expiring's at the trade deadline.

Interesting tidbit for Miami as well. The new CBA allows for 3 two-way players on a roster. So I expect us to go hunting in the undrafted market pretty heavily.

He's not serious. Jimmy doesn't like to make any excuses, he's always going to say he was healthy. He said this in the game after he injured it too.

To anyone watching Jimmy play it was obvious he was injured and playing through it.

If absolutely nothing will be revealed about what was truly wrong w/ Jimmy & have us all in a permanent state of bafflement & perplexity I will go completely crazy for the rest of my life

We'd have to trade them to Utah first in exchange for assets that Portland would want. Utah loves them some white bois!

Now your just making crap up and being a racial. Let me know when youve got something real to propose that fits the trade machine and that teams would actually want.

Portland have apparently been active trying to trade Simons. So I think there's the possibility that Portland could take Herro and see him as a good backcourt partner with Scoot going forward.

But if Portland don't want Herro then Miami might try involve a 3rd team like Utah.

They have 35mil in cap space

Both their current SGs Clarkson and Horton-Tucker have a PO and will likely become FAs.

They have 3 FRPs in the 2023 draft #9, #16 and #28 and 3FRPs in the 2025 draft.

Miami could try trade Utah Herro for cap room and someone like Olynyk's non guaranteed expiring deal and some picks that we can use in a Lillard deal.

And you say that it's overblown, but this guy kneecapped Steve Nash before he ever coached a game. Never mind trying to shut down an entire NBA season.

Also want to point out to people who are concerned about Lillard's contract/age at the end of his contract.

Steph Curry is currently 35yo. GSW have him signed through till 2025-2026 when he will be 38yo. (59.6mil in 25-26 - 1mil more than Lillard)

Lillard is currently 33yo and will be 35/36yo when his contract expires.

GSW won a championship with Curry at the age of 34.

Lillard's only had like one long term injury in his career which was last year when he had his nagging abdominal problem which he had surgery for. Outside of that he's been healthy almost all his career.

Lillard and Curry's games are very similar both are high volume 3pt shooters, but Lillard better at getting to the rim and Curry takes more mid range floaters. Lillard's game will likely age just as gracefully as Curry's.

Also before everyone goes off, No I do not think Dame is a better player than Curry. Just saying that the way they both play, as high volume 3pt shooters is similar and should age similarly.

Return to Miami Heat
