I guess only you can answer that. I didn't really think much of it until I saw how his father is parading him around like a circus act.
He's a 10-year-old LSU recruit named Baby Gronk. His dad has him on a strict diet, a 6-day week workout routine, and is using him for clout at this point. Feel bad for the kid.

Ok I peripherally heard about this last week and I thought Gronk had a kid.
Also, I never had any idea who Livvy is and now am gathering she's a social media star (and fringe college athlete) and that's why she's randomly in all those Vuori commercials.

Walton had it right regarding youth sports. Relevant part starts at 8:21.
The "kids are overcoached and undertaught" serves as the abstract here.
Give kids guidance but let them explore. Don't stamp out their curiosity. Recognize the importance of unstructured play.
I hope the kid hasn't had his childhood sacrificed.

I’ve gotten really good at not giving a hoot about random social media stars and fads. I think I saw that kid while scrolling and never once thought about it again until now. I enjoy being old.

I think some of you are missing the point with the baby gronk stuff. Nobody is saying you need to care or give a hoot about some tik tok star, but what his dad is doing to him is kind of abusive. He's setting his kid up for some massive failure while putting a target on his back the older he gets.

The dad has also sent multiple dm’s to basically anyone in sports media to get an interview. Its super sad.

It really isnt anything I would encourage, but is the 'abuse' portion news worthy if you don't care about him as a celebrity? I don't condone it and think he is doing a disservice to the kid, but it doesn't seem like he is physically or deeply emotionally abusing him. Kid seems healthy overall. Based on limited knowledge, him being an egotistical **** is still probably better than the kid not having a dad at all. I think it is a lot closer to just raising him to be a bad adult compared to abuse you see. This doesn't seem like a situation where you need to take the kid away.
If you care about the kid, don't share or promote any of the videos ----including this one. It just encourages the dad in making his kid a celebrity.

Making an underdeveloped child go on a 6-day-a-week workout regimen isn't physical abuse? Parading him around multiple outlets and media when he doesn't want to be there isn't emotional torment? Does the dad need to beat his son on camera for you to see the abuse?
And that video doesn't promote him. It shows the manipulation at which his father will go, having to feed words into his kid's mouth.

ETA: TL/DR- Dad of youtube child athlete star turns out to be a **** father living vicariously through his kid and not that great of a dad. Shocked.
Fair. I guess i haven't looked closely enough, nor really care to. There are a ton of parents, especially in youth sports, that I would consider abusive at some level - physically and emotionally. I meant to say he doesn't seem abusive to the extent where you would have to remove custody from him. It's cringe and harmful to the kid, but not to the point of it being illegal. He seems like the typical overbearing sports dad that added social media. To be clear, I think he is a **** father. I just don't think it is really news worthy.
6 days a week training regime? IDK would have to see what it involves. Is it 3-hour workout sessions of repetitive drills, hard-core weight lifting, etc that would cause a lot of stress? Or is this an over-hyped 1-hour structured daycare with different drills rotating to prevent overuse. I hope my kid gets outside every day. In the US, 1 in 30 kids his age are severely obese and 1/5th of kids are obese. From a physical standpoint, I think reasonable training every day is better than the alternative.
Being paraded around - again i guess it depends how much of this stuff he does. Is it every day or like 1 interview every 6 months? Like yeah, its **** parenting but its probably closer to Beauty Pageant level **** parent than someone who should be locked up.

I thought Bomani made a good point on his show this week: the kid comes out eventually. Either you let the kid be the kid when they're young, or you take that away and the kid shows up as an adult. Think Todd Marinovich. This sounds exactly like that.

The kids dad sucks as a human, I don't think you'll find much argument about that.
It's also ridiculous to think you can 'train' a kid to be an NFL TE (or almost any position). There's a pretty decent chance he'll simply never grow to be big enough.
If you're going to be an **** parent and do that to your kid pick something like pitching, golf, tennis, ect where physical size isn't a prerequisite.
I **** LOVED football as a kid, I'm 5'10 160 lbs... I could have trained 16 hours a day and still never played past high school.

I don't drink bourbon that often anymore, but I stocked up a bit tonight. Festival Foods is having a pretty ridiculous sale on all bourbon. I bought a bottles of Elijah Craig 12 and Makers Mark, both about 40% off. I'm going back because I found out that today only they're offering an additional 10% off if you're a member of their text club. I'll probably splurge and buy something really special.

Ended up not buying anything crazy, but I picked up three relatively pricy bottles of stuff I hadn't had before in Whistlepig Piggy Back, Heaven's Door, and Burning Chair. Saved about $60. Now I've got enough bourbon to last me a very long time.
