Is Herro?

Both will give you around the same production and Herro is the better shooter.

Dame can come here and run the entire offense.

Unless you think Beal is coming here to iso 30 while Jimmy and Bam do...?

I think Beal would be coming here to get into the paint at twice the rate as Herro, while scoring more efficiently playing off of Jimmy and Bam than Herro can or will be able to over the next few years. Beal scored 3 more ppg this season while shooting the same number of FGA as Herro this season. Herro rarely faced the primary focus of team defense, that's basically all Beal has faced for the past 5+ years.

40% of Herro's FGAs were OPEN 3s this season compared to 20% of Beal's FGAs. I'm pretty confident Beal feasts with all of the additional space to operate he would have with Miami. Beal made the open 3s at a higher percentage.

His handle is superior, his skillset is superior, his athleticism is superior and he's a thicker build. Herro led the team in FGA but was still 3rd in scoring on our team. Beal didn't lead his team in FGA, yet was still the lead scorer. Beal faces a lot more defensive attention than Herro ever has.

Give Beal the space that playing in our offensive system with 2 real players would create and allow him to face less defensive attention and I promise it will be a different story than what Herro has provided. He has the handle and skills to create space for himself without screens too!

Beal should be the top priority because he should cost vastly less than Dame in assets. If Portland is going to move him they better be ready to talk now.

For example, look at this offer Bobby Marks has for the Knicks to give Washington. The issue is that Beal has rights to veto any trade and his contract is huge making what Washington can get for him limited. Miami potentially can go look for a PF trade with something that cheap to make a strong championship run for the next 3-4 years.

Beal???? Say it ain't so Rapaz...

Give this certified scorer the space of playing in Spo's scheme off of Jimmy and Bam and watch what happens.

Oh yeah Beal has a 11% trade kicker so what would his contract be then?

I’ve always been a Beal fan but he’s going to make some serious coin in the coming years. However, if the front office can make the financials work I say go for it

Beal is almost 8 feet tall. Put him on Jokic and he’d lock that fat potato up.

We're probably not gonna like the last year of his deal with an old Jimmy, too. But, at least Beal will be 33, which is not a guarantee that he'll be a corpse. Jimmy was 33 this season. Dame will be 33 next season. I'm confident he's got a couple more good years in him. He's overpaid. But, if the money works for us for our roster then who cares.

Let's get over the hump

What can not happen AGAIN, is for us to sit on our A ss again and let other potential signings go to waste ala KD and Giannis, if Beal becomes attainable first then you get Beal, after this finals it is pretty clear we need a solid scoring punch to have a chance and I do thinkg Beal fits that perfectly. I dont know about the chance to acquire Turner, but it sounds very juicy having a big with his skillsets in a Heat uniform.

With a Beal trade I think you can make both Washington and Miami happy with an expanded trade, something like...

Beal, Gafford, Wright for Herro, Lowry, Robinson with 2 1st and a swap.

Washington gets a young scorer, removes a ton of long term salary starting next summer, removes a midrange contract in Gafford at center allowing them to feel better resigning Porzingis. They can then decide on bringing back Kuzma or S&T him for another asset.

For Miami they get Beal, remove the long term contract of Robinson and add an athletic backup center and add a solid vet guard in Wright all while cutting some salary next season.

Miami then has an expiring contract in Oladipo to move.

When I actually dipped into his actual stats and started to look at them closely, it kind of changed how I viewed him. I kind of undersold him a bit until I compare him and Lillard to find their actually really close in production. Herro is not anywhere near them as scorers. Per minute basis Beal outproduces Lillard on the court, Beal had 2 back to back seasons of putting up 30ppg, and he is actually taking less shots and not dominating the ball as much these last 2 years which is helping his case looking at his stats based on efficiency. He also does this while garnering the best defender night in night out. He also has zero issues with taking people off the dribble and finishing at the rim. Lillard is a bad man himself but he does cost more, is still shorter 6'-2" tall, and 3 years older. I really believe Beal does have the better cost to upside ratio. You could potentially extend this cores peak with Beal even after Jimmy is tapers off due to Beals age.

Correction, Dame will be 33 on July 15th of this year, before the start of next season. Beal will be 30 on June 28th, they are almost 3 years apart by about 20 days. If you look at the past short pg 6'2" or shorter who were superstars all had great seasons at 32 & 33 years of age but turned to pumpkins at when they hit that magical 35 years of age.

Pull the trigger. Although Beal only played a maximum of 60 games per season in the last 4 years. We'll see.
