Duncan’s contract as of now is keeping us from signing 2-3 productive players to round out the roster. You want him dumped

The Wiz can wait this out a little bit, they are not on the clock. Also the assumption that Beal will only choose Miami sounds like a crack addict getting his hit with hope peddling. Beal will have his list of teams, not just one.

How much does it grind your gears?

Do we have to give up first to get rid of him?

Then you have dipos expiring Duncan and 2-3 1sts (Jovic if needed) to get another deal(s) done to shore up the rest of the roster. Preferably at minimum a starting level 3 and D 4/5 to put next to Bam

If we can dump those two deals with the picks it opens up the door to sign vet free agents and keep our own

yes, just get Beal in a Heat jersey first. we figure out the vet and free agent role player stuff later, trade everyone not named bam or jimmy (id like to keep Caleb to be honest, but WE NEED to grab a star scoring option, so trade him too if we gotta)

I like that!

Herro, Lowry, and 1st for Beal and Monte Morris(Only 27) looks like a really good deal to me and for both sides. Might not even need the first.

Anyone know how Morris' defense is?

I'm personally inclined towards Delon Wright's game for his defense and positional versatility. But it's all gravy

We need a PF so we can play Caleb at SG/SF from now on…but knowing Spo…hopefully Jovic can take that role this upcoming season.

really would rather have Dame!

something about Beal ...

The narrative here and elsewhere has been in overdrive bashing him for a while. That stuff sticks independent of what happens on the court

He's not Dame obviously--but it's all about cost of acquisition

well, apparently Beal has a no trade clause?

If Washington wants to go full rebuild mode, what about this

Heat trade: herro, Lowry (exp), jovic, oladipo, 2022 1st rd pick, 2025 1st rd lick

Heat get: porzingis and Beal

We then let strus go in fa and keep vincent

Porzingis
Bam
Butler
Beal
Vincent

With Caleb and duncan off the bench

Was hoping someone would ask Bam about Fiba this summer at the exit interviews

I find it hard to believe a team like Washington who have new ownership and likely completing a full teardown and likely wont receive full compensation for Beal and Porzingis they likely want to empty their cap sheet.

Them taking on Herro's 4yrs and Robinson's 3yrs seems like a lot.

Herro, Lowry and draft compensation for Beal and Delon Wright or Monte Morris makes more sense as they get their Beal replacement for the short term and 29mil expiring money plus draft compensation.

The sticking point for me is what that draft compensation would look like for a deal like this.

Could be something like 2FRPs. I would be shocked if Miami can somehow swing this for any less.

Beal hasn't played over 60 games since the 2018-19 season. No thanks he is not a whale but he'll definitely sink our cap like an orca.

i mean, Beal has an uggly contract, he's the 4th highest paid player in the league, after Curry, Lebron, and KD.

They said we’re going to be surprised how cheap Beal is, guess we’ll see

I don't know, switch the rest of the rosters and maybe it's a little bit different? Give them Martin, Love, Strus, Vincent... and take back MPJ, A.Gordon, KCP, B.Brown... It may have been an entirely different series. It's not Butler or Bam's call on not adding a PF after PJ Tucker left.

Our cap is sunk. This trade would just be swapping what's occupying it

Nah... if they're doing a rebuild expand the trade, send an extra draft asset or 2, possibly swaps and send out Robinson and bring back some other useable players with Beal. Miami would be taking on a ton of salary and Beal can tell Washington Miami's the only place he wants to go... so use that for your advantage, Beal has to OK what his new team is sending out and he's not going to want a gutted team. The NTC was an incredible asset that Beal got along with max pay, Washington old FO really screwed up, they should have moved him before giving him a NTC.
