Re: Scoot Henderson
People are overthinking and overanalyzing Scoot. This dude dominated the G-League and is a rare athlete. I love Brandon Miller, but if Scoot doesn't go #2, Charlotte will live to regret it.

I highly suggest you go do some research. His peak DARKO was around +4. Dude was a stud on both ends.
lol. career TS% of 50%. that's off the charts inefficient.
40% FGs, 32% 3pt. damn. ouch!
You will never understand hoops by simply using BBref.

lol. forget about the **** production. all you had to do is watch the guy play basketball. there is a reason he never won. just too inefficient, didn't make guys better and couldn't defend.

i don't think you understand the meaning of dominate. to be clear, i'm not saying scoot isn't really good or shouldn't be taken #2 overall, but if you think he dominated the g league, you have a very loose definition of the word.

I meant to say a 6'9 wing who can handle the ball, shoot, pass and is way more versatile defensively. I'd much rather bet on that guy being the best player on a contender than a 6'3 guard whose calling card is his athleticism, which, in the NBA, doesn't count for very much.
Put it this way - would you rather have Tatum or Morant?

he can't handle or pass anywhere near Scoot, nor is he anywhere near Scoot's archetype and don't play the same position or role. so I still don't know what you mean when you say he has a lot of the same skills.
and even if you compare both to Tatum/Morant, how do Tatum and Morant "have the same skill sets"?

I’d rather have Tatum but I don’t buy the premise that Miller is Tatum so it’s a moot point.

Without the gun stuff? Morant. But it’s close.
The thing is, to me Scoot is likely to get to his ceiling, which is like athletic Mike Conley, where as I see it a lot more likely Miller winds up like the Phoenix version of Cameron Johnson, or Lamond Murray.

Scoot's path to getting to a Morant level player is way clearer and more obvious than Miller getting to Tatum level, and I actually have Scoot as a better prospect than Ja coming out.
either way this was never the discussion and the dude is just throwing out random stuff. two completely different players with different skill sets.

He did?
He was out for nearly half the season with a knee injury, his team was mediocre and his stats were comparable to late 2nd round pick, JD Davison.

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

I like the Baron comparison a fair amount, probably not quite the athlete, and don't think he has the defensive chops, but offensive decision making/skill well ahead of early Baron.
I bought a boat.

If Scoot can turn himself into a Curry level shooter I'll take back every bad thing I've said about him.

I mean not only...but yeah some! Comparing a dude who is maybe 6'2" to a guy who's 6'5"...why? Just why.

He should enlist Steph for some 3-pointers.

They share the same shooting coach, actually. Steph/Scoot's shooting coach resides in Charlotte, North Carolina where Steph was born and where his father covers games on TV.
Also shares PUMA as a sponsor with Ball and knows LaMelo off the court.

I think Scoot is more Morant than Miller is Tatum and is more likely to reach Morant's ceiling than Miller is to reach Tatum's ceiling IMO.
