If his kid doesn't inspire him to change and make the most of his life and the opportunities in front of him then nothing will. That's the kind of thing you never forget.

really leaves an unsettled feeling to me, that I've only really read reflection on the events from her, not so much from Miles. yeah he's in legal proceedings but all I see from him is head down, sweating in the gym. if I'm supposed to understand he's turned over a new leaf, where am I supposed to be convinced of that from Miles himself?

I'm just confused how his ex can say he's not a woman beater but post pictures of her face mangled all to hell.

What are we expecting his contract to look like? 4 years $100 million?

Lurking Pistons fan here. I’m really intrigued by how this will play out. I really want Bridges on the Pistons before all he’ll broke loose. So you feel Charlotte is giving him a real contract? Debating on what a sign/trade would look like, both financially and from a PR stand point. At least Hornets can say they are stuck w him, which looks better than actually going out and pursuing a trade.

She certainly gets child support based on his income. In her best interests for him to get his career back on track.

No one actually knows what we're thinking, but Miles' posts on social media sure look like he's coming back to Charlotte

I think most of the fanbase would prefer we trade him and start fresh.

In reality I think he will likely come back on a reduced contract and because he's best friends with our best player Melo.

In other words it seems we are stuck with him for now.

we need miles to come back laser focused and make that jump to 25-7-5 on 45-35-80. miller can hide in the shame corner for a couple of seasons and stretch the D while melo and miles to to work.

You are selling Miller short. We don't draft him #2 to go stand in the corner and shoot 3's. Miller is going to be our go to guy as he gets more experience.

I do hope he comes back ready to play. Him and whatever the pick is at 2 could be a big boost to this team. The question will be how long until he gets his legs back under him and how long until the 2 pick takes a big role.

Short "prove it" contract, not more than 2 years ~$20M per. Any longer sends the wrong signal in my opinion.

I don't want to sign and trade him as I doubt we will get anything meaningful back in return. We should sign him on a discounted contract. Something like 3 years $55 million with a team option for a fourth year at a similar price.

This isn't morality class. A short-term contract is a disadvantage to the franchise. We should be just adding as many team options and non-guaranteed money behaviour/performance clauses as possible.

IMO They clearly intend to bring him back, otherwise they would've cut bait at any point prior to now.

He'll be here for awhile. The only question is the cost.

Kupchak said probably not until July. Likely make the QO before the deadline and then get a deal in July.

I said in my comment that was for the next couple of years. I think even in the best case scenarios next year he's still the third option behind melo and miles. If we bring everyone back, I think it's a safe assumption that he doesn't even start next year.

What does a 3-year progression look like for him statistically?

14, 18, 22ppg? With fairly rough percentages that first year.

Meanwhile, it would be shocking if both miles and lamelo both weren't over 20 points per game next year, with one of them potentially pushing 25.

Miller's primary contributions his first two years will most likely be as a three-point shooter, 2nd team bucket getter.

I think miles has the talent to take a leap next year if his head's on straight, and he's remained in good shape. A focused, Motivated miles who isn't getting **** up 24/7 could be a legit baller. It might take him a month or two to knock the rust off.

Miller will be potentially competing with miles, pj, Hayward, terry, and Cody for minutes next year. (I can't see any way they would bring back Kelly if we draft Miller, that would be Beyond ridiculous)

Of course we may trade Terry or Hayward and let pj walk.

If Miles resigns, that pretty much blocks Miller from starting unless Cliff is willing to play one of them at PF. Assuming we don't keep PJ.

Neither Miller or Scoot will play much next year. Or maybe the year after too. Will spend most of the season at the Swarm and riding the bench / rotational backup like Mark did.

As far as Miles contract, hopefully it's team friendly. Maybe 4yrs 80m or something.
