Max Strus for 10 million would be a big mistake. He was one of the few Miami players to not better their reputation during the playoffs.

been going through NBA odds today.
NEXT TEAM odds for players in 2023/24 season (excludes current team) listed favorite then Magic odds

Deangelo Russell Suns +300 (Magic 9th hightest team +1000)
FVV Suns +250 (Magic 5th team +800)
Middleton OKC +400 (Magic 2nd +500)
Vucevic Celtics +250. Magic no odds
Horford Hawks +200 (Magic 2nd +300)
Austin Reaves Spurs +150 (Magic 3rd team +400)
Beal Heat +300 Celtics +400
Ayton Mavs +250 (Magic +600 5th team)
Lillard Heat +200 Knicks +250
Kyrie Lakers +175
Lebron Mavs +250 Warriors +350
Trae Young Lakes +175
Chris Paul Lakers +250. No magic

Bolded ones never really crossed my mind. Seems like either Vegas thinks we are going to sign a FA...or they are just lazy and see that we have a lot of money

not sure how these work...seems like the bets should only happen if they are traded, other wise they are just not good enough odds on a lot of these

Magic +15000 to win championship. Pistons and Hornets +50000

Hmm really interesting. I love the idea of tracking the money for good speculative angles. Interesting that the Lakers aren't favorites for Reaves.

Middleton and Horford are really interesting options. Especially Horford...

They should be since they can match anything really. If someone offers a big sheet I expect LA to wait as long as possible to accept/match to screw the other teams $$
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

This Bleacher Report article is making the rounds on Twitter, with Magic-related tidbits being:
- Magic have "too many picks"
- Magic holding out hope for JI's health
- "sources say" they'll keep Fultz and Bol
- If they stretch JI, could make up to $38 mil in cap space (would be enough for FVV or another vet FA signing)
- Look for Cole Anthony to be available via trade
- Max Strus for $10 mill plus is something to look out for

Idk how credible Bleacher Report is, especially with our FO, but at this time of the year it's at least worth discussing I figured.

I'd prefer to move on from JI, keep one of the draft picks and don't mind going after Strus or GTJ in FA, but don't wanna spend the money FVV will likely command. Don't want to move on from Cole yet, interested in keeping Bol and Fultz as I don't think their trade value would return much as of right now.

Nothing leaks from our FO, plus I hate all off these ideas.

You buy a rumor like that?
Not really but I'm not sure we can keep all our guards.... If we can get something then why not? How much a player is getting paid is going to matter REAL soon in terms of how the new cba is set up with team building

Reaves just signed a signature shoe deal with a Chinese outfit, to be launched to the market in August. The shoe is in the Lakers colours. Looks very like he's staying put.

KP has a player option on his deal for a final $36M season. He’s an injury risk like Isaac, but being a contract year he might fight through it.

KP/WCJ
Paolo/(Isaac)/Chuma
Franz/Houstan
Suggs/Cole
Fultz/Black

KP would give us that rim protection and 3pt shooting unicorn who would be a perfect fit next to Paolo.

If we are looking to upgrade our starting 5 spot, this is a great fit. Makes me wonder what we do with Wendell then? I actually think Wendell would have to be traded at that point, because I don't see him wanting to be a bench big.

I don't know about "wanting", but I think WCJ would be fantastic off the bench at both 4/5. I could see him playing starter's minutes overall and, often, depending on matchups, getting more minutes than KP (or Vuc :D ). WCJ, while in CHI, declared himself a 4. He's done well enough at C, but I'd really like a shot blocking, rebounding C like Lively. KP would be very interesting - if he really bought into the young team and what he could bring...wouldn't want a flight risk, but sometimes you gotta give it a shot...that would kill a good chunk of our cap space (assuming we hung on to Fultz and Isaac) but it's an interesting angle.

so he "fights through it" for his contract year, gets his next contract and then goes back to missing games while injured? no thanks. we just need a defensive center to go along with WCJ.

What about Myles Turner? He's always in trade discussions even though he seems to be exactly what IND needs, IMO.

As I said earlier, this is not to get rid of or "replace" WCJ...we'd have the right guy starting next to Paolo and Franz AND the best, most versatile, physical big rotation with WCJ getting big minutes at 4/5.

Turner has two more years at around 21m and 20m. He's 27 and exactly what Bamba was supposed to be +25 lbs of muscle.

#6 and DEN 25 frp to IND for Myles Turner and #26

draft Bufkin at #11, Dariq Whitehead at #26

*many possible variations including #36, taking on Hield, etc. All dependent on what IND's vision is-maybe 6+7 gets them a big name vet?

I.suggested going for Porzingis a few weeks back. I mean, he gives you an offensive bump of serious significance, for a modest outlay. You have to look at that. And it's not at.the expense of defence either.

Zion and pick 11 for Paolo and Harris

I wouldn't do it, but Zion when healthy is one of the most dominant offensive players in the league. Zion is getting thrown around for pick 2 or 3... I value Paolo a lot higher than either of those picks, which is where pick 11 comes in.

Consider it a guarantee folks… Magic with draft Coulibaly at 6 and Lively at 11… Mark it down.
