Re: 2022-2023 College Basketball / NBA Draft
My final mock, ranked not based on how I think the draft will go BUT ranked on how good they’ll be in the league
06/18/23
1 Wembayama (once in a lifetime prospect)
2 Brandon Miller (likely star wing)
3 Brice Sensabaugh (superb 3 level scorer)
4 Scoot (likely star guard but cant shoot)
5 Brandin Podziemski (tyler herro to jalen brunson upside)
6 Taylor Hendricks (borderline star scorer with defense)
7 Kobe Bufkin (playmaking and shooting upside)
8 Jarace Walker (reminds me of Jerami Grant)
9 Bilal Coulilbaly (versatile wing who can shoot and play defense; could be higher if i got more sample size)
10 Jordan Hawkins (borderline star off ball scorer) defender potential.
11 Cam Whitmore (good foundation on offense with multi position .7apg is a redflag tho)
12 Gradey Dick (reliable 3&d with high IQ)
13 Amen Thompson (im not a fan of poor shooter)
14 Ausar Thompason (im not a fan of poor shooter)
15 Marcus Sasser (high production guard on both ends)
16 Leonard Miller (2 way forward)
17 Jaime Jacquez (versatile guard on both ends)
18 Keyonte George (scorer but inefficient)
19 Jett Howard (scorer + size)
20 Cason Wallace (not a fan of non scoring guards)
21 Dereck Lively (upside as a starting big)
22 Noah Clowney (upside as a starting PF)
23 Trayce (reminds me of John Collins)
24 Kobe Brown (shooting + upside as multi position defender)
25 Adama Sagono (reminds me of big Al)
26 Kris Murray (productive)
27 Terquavion Smith (i like his style of play but he needs to clean up his efficiency)
28 Anthony Black (not a fan, i dont like poor shooters or non scoring guard. I think he’s a forward masks as a guard)
29 Colby Jones (productive role playing backup guard)
30 Nick Smith Jr (upside)

Re: 2022-2023 College Basketball / NBA Draft
1.Wemby -If he hits, you are set. If he doesn't..still a very good building block IMO
2.Scoot - Small guards w/ shooting worries scares me...but he is working with Curry and seems like a dawg.
3. Hendricks - Just checks every box you want your modern day 4 man to check.
4. Whitmore - Has the tools to be a stud. Nova was a bad fit for him IMO.
5. Miller - I think the bad juju around him is real , fair or not lol. Feels Evan Turnery except with 3s which is still good tho.
6. Wallace - Kentucky Guards yo. Does a lot well so his floor is higher than most. If the Cal chains being gone unlocks him...wooo
7. Bufkin - Does everything well.
8. Thompson Twins - The athleticism is too good to drop further. Seem like great kids so there is that.
9. Coulilbaly - I'd take the upside swing
10. Podz - Analytic Darling
11. Black - Evan Turner with cool hair
12. George - Guy I'd overrate for years because of swag reasons
13. Hawkins - Black JJ
14. Dick - Shooter with size is a plug and play guy who you can hide easier than most shooting guys
15. Walker - No clue but I think he is going to bust....has the tools I guess.
16. Sensabaugh - Peeps here like him but i have no real thoughts on him atm
17. Lewis - Skinny 6'7 wing chuckers are my jam...shout outs to Nick Young
18. Jaquez - Just wins baby. If he slips into the second due to age I will threaten Darryl's life for him.
19. Bailey - Impressed me during the combine...just seems like he gets it.
20. Smith Jr - Reminds me of Maxey
Other guys
Howard - Michigan Fans hate dude...which is concerning.
Leo Miller - Classic potential guy who never lives up to it IMO (You are welcome for the HOF now <team who takes him>)
Whitehead - Two surgeries in a year...yeah nah
Lively - He was ass at DUke for most of the year and the "he can shoot 3s now" hype has never panned out.
Potential mid to late 2nd targets I' overrate once we draft them
Sheppard - Also looked good at the combine, feels like the mid sized wing Miami thrives with.
Strawther - Just feels like a solid 10 year pro.
Lundy - Water Pure Shooter who isn't tiny...
Wong - Local Guy mayne.
Isiah Miller - OLD AARP Member can ball...smaller than I thought tho
Sasser - Feels like he should be a 1st rounder
Phillips - Springy Athlete with some shooting potential
Walsh - MENACE on defense...can't shoot tho...so yeah Future Sixer for sure.
Bates - He sucks...but what if doe
We need to come out of this draft with 1 or 2 youngish wing prospects. Thats the wave of this league IMO.

Damn. This kid, if drafted and developed in the right place has the potential to be a monster in 2-3 years. Where do you guys see him going?

He'll probably go in the Top 10. The secret is out on him.

Re: 2022-2023 College Basketball / NBA Draft
This draft has definitely grown on me. Mostly because it’s pretty deep with solid wing prospects. At least a few of them will hit & change a teams trajectory that’s drafting in the back half of the lotto & even in the 20s.

Wow, Jacquez is invited to the green room. I'm guessing Bilal Coulilbaly goes top 10. He was criminally underrated pre-combine, lol.

Colin Castleton - mobile rim protecting backup 5
D'Moi Hodge - 3&D off ball guard
Matthew Mayer - versatile forward who can do a little bit of everything
1 for Delaware full-time
Jazian Gortman - ballhandler/wingspan freak

#2. Can shoot. Can operate on ball and off ball.
If you think Scoot can improve his shooting, then this guy can improve better at shooting and other areas of his game

would also be interested in the Miami guys if they're still around late in the draft, Wong & Miller - tough, experienced guys who know how to win games

Ugh, I guess I'll make my board tonight. It's so annoying we don't currently have a pick in this draft.

Re: 2022-2023 College Basketball / NBA Draft
Players projected from 20 and beyond that do it for me:
-Jaime Jaquez
- Marcus Sasser
- Tristan Vukčević
- Amari Bailey
- Kobe Brown
- Jordan Miller
- Jaylen Clark
- Oscar Tshiebwe
- Azuolas Tubelis
-Jalen Wilson
To whittle it down, Sasser, Bailey, Brown, Miller, and Tshiebwe are the guys I think will really stick around in the NBA. Bailey is the most alluring as a freshman, but he's also the most questionable of those guys. Sasser really feels like Rozier to me, so he probably has the most upside of the upperclassmen.

He looks about Maxey's size to me.

Maxey is also listed around 6'3

He has the upside of being the best player in the draft, imo. It's just a "risk" taking a sub 6'3 player in the first round. I actually don't think he falls as far as mocks suggest though. Elite shooter with elite defense and very good handles. Success his entire time at Houston. Long arms. He should be top 15, easily, imo.

I would love have a GM who could get a pick around the 25 range to grab him. Maybe pick 25.
