Makes sense and maybe Simmons would play decently since no one cares about the Wizards and he would have zero pressure here.

Trade machine says I can't move Kuzma -- does that mean he's already opted out? I guess....

They move off of Simmons. We tolerate his contract, because it's half the length of Brad's. Bridges is a big plus, & maybe they would place a high value on moving up to 8.

If it feels weighted in their direction, they might include Thomas.
If it feels weighted in our direction, we might include Deni.

Make any sense at all?

Simmons is a toxic contract for sure, but Bridges is a really really valuable asset due to his contract and how he finished the season. I think it might take more than us adding Deni to get this deal done.

I don't see how that makes a ton of sense for any one involved.

They can coble the contracts together for Beal with out Simmons but why?

I don't want anything to do with Simmons and if we are moving on from Beal we need to move on to a rebuild bridges is too good and doesn't fit the time line.

Even if they included Thomas, I don’t think I would even consider that.

Although, I’m sure we could flip Bridges for a couple 1sts at the deadline. So all in all, it would be Beal+8 for 21+22 and a couple of future 1sts from a contender.

Most other proposed Beal trades return atleast a couple future late 1sts, so ultimately, we are trading down from 8 for 21&22.

That’s a gross oversimplification I know, but I still like the Miami deal the most of anything.

Bridges is a better player than Beal is right now, is three years younger, and is making way less money.

I just don't see why the Nets would do this trade. Getting out of the Ben Simmons contract is nice, but then they have Beal's contract for the next four years with no hope of competing.

I'd do something like:

Nets get: Bradley Beal
Wizards get: Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas, Day'Ron Sharpe, #21, future 2nd

I can’t stand Simmons but I think he would definitely revitalize his career here with practically 0 pressure from the media, etc. It’s what we do, rehabilitate careers.

How about leaving Sharpe out of it & getting both 21 & 22 instead (with no future 2d)?

Hence:
Nets get: Bradley Beal
Wizards get: Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas, #21 & #22.

Whatcha think?

That would be great from our perspective. Would Brooklyn do it? I'm actually not sure.

Nets definitely have more to offer than the Bucks, though. The Bucks don't have any assets besides MarJon Beauchamp, some 2nds, and a FRP in 2028.

That being said, if no other trades materialize, take Middleton (assuming he opts in), Beauchamp, and whatever picks you can get.

Ok, so I haven't dived too deeply into this, but like its gotta be Miami right?

Why for Beal? Trade kicker salary boost + lower tax state = MORE MONEY!!
Team just sent to NBA FINALS! Top contender in East.
Live in Miami all winter!

Why for Miami?
Riley LOVES the big splash signings... Alonzo, Juwan Howard, Shaq, LeBron, Butler...
They need scoring. They need a scorer... With Butler, Beal, Bam, Lowry, they are favorites to return to the Finals.

Why for Wizards?
Major cap and roster flexibility, move on from Beal, reduction in salary, add the 18th pick in this draft...
Delon 31
Robinson 29
Porzingis 27
Kuzma 27
Gafford 24
Kispert 24
Goodwin 24
Herro 23
Avdija 22
Davis 21
Picks 8 & 18 & 42
Draft Black or Thompson at 8, Coulibaly or Cissoko at 18 (for example)

Deal Morris to Suns for pick 52

And Jovic. If I do that deal with Miami, I want Jovic. And two FRPs.

I’ve been toying with a similar deal. Only instead of sending us the #22, they sent us Dorian Finney Smith. And then I take Finney-Smith and Gafford (plus maybe Wright or Morris) and send them to Dallas for the #10 and bad contracts. I think it makes a ton of sense for all parties.

Yeah, if we’re getting stuck with Robinson’s contract in the deal, we need a lot more compensation. At a minimum, that would include Jovic and their minimally protected 2029 pick.

People keep bringing this up (mostly on the GB)
Beal is NOT eligible to receive the trade kicker. He already makes the max.

I repeat. Beal can NOT make more than his salary this year.

I’m not so sure. They have to pay 33 year old Beal 57 million, and with the NTC carrying over….

We will be fortunate to get Herro+Robinson+#18

If the team is allowing him to talk to Milwaukee, that’s pretty revealing, they have literally nothing to offer.

Why would we do that deal??? Gives us no expirings.

Disagree.
Let’s say a team is looking for a 3rd piece, but really needs a wing more than guard, doesn’t have the assets to get Beal, and doesn’t want the long term salary.
Middleton might be good backup plan.
Beauchamp + 2029 unprotected 1st is a really nice start to a package depending on what team C gives up for Middleton
