Regardless of the skepticism of others, Amen was always my pick to run point as Wemby’s partner in crime.

• Best facilitator in the draft

• Best run/jump athlete in the draft

• 6’7” with the ability to be a switchable defender

• The foot speed + quick hands to disrupt point of attack

• Arguably the highest upside in the draft outside of Wemby

• Ja Morant, SGA, etc. are some other lead guards with shooting concerns GMs (irl and BaF) overthunk & outsmarted themselves out of picking. I trust my evaluation

For what I’m building in BaF… I had him rated above Scoot. Should have a higher FG%, STL, AST, REB, DEF along with double digit scoring when all is said and done, even if he never develops a league average FG3. Sim loves these triple-double threat guys.

Miller wasn’t the best fit for me either with Vassell and Murphy III already entrenched as long 3nD wings.

It was a no-brainer to me, to trade down one spot and get the guy I wanted while also getting my 2025 1st round pick back, then flipping it for Markelle Fultz (who’s trending up). Amen + Fultz for #3 essentially fortified my point guard spot.

Lastly, it’s an underrated element but saving additional cash on the lower pick slot played a significant factor as well. Every dollar counts and the way I’ve mapped out the financials, I will end up needing that extra $6 salary difference between pick #3 and #4.

If he gets even an average jumper it’s jackpot!

But I’m keeping a keen eye on which NBA squad he lands on. As long as he goes somewhere where they will play him on the ball he’ll succeed. But if any team plays him off the ball it won’t be the right fit and will slow his development. I’m hoping he goes to Houston and Harden doesn’t go home. That’s the ideal scenario.

top 6 seems to be going roughly the way most mocks have it...no it really gets interesting for you guys.

Ausar is a dope pick for ICH down in Houston.

He has a ton of upside and is still plug’n play as a 3nD wing right away. Some think he will be a better NBA pick than Amen due to a higher floor based off the shooting potential.

Lowkey, I was initially looking to keep the twins together and pair them on the wings flanking Wemby. But it was a high risk endeavor that would’ve required me to wait on the sim impact of both of them to materialize.

Then before I found out TC traded the 5th pick, I was very worried he was gonna take Ausar before me, if I sat at 6th.

That’s why I pivoted and traded the pick to ICH for Vassell. Went for the known quantity with fast lane sim respect. But at one point the goal was to go Wemby / Amen / Ausar.

OG Anunoby 2022/23 Season:

16.8/5.0/2.0/1.9 on 47.6/38.7/83.8; with a TS% of .586

2023 NBA leader in steals per game, total steals, and 2nd team all defense.

I gave up a lot to get OG; but no doubt about it, he is a franchise changing defensive anchor.

I think it’s always been just by the cut off of 12am not by the actual pick numbers, so how ever many gets picked before the end of the day then we pick back up with the remaining picks.
