Herro would be my favorite realistic piece, but maybe even a steeply discounted CP3 short-term mentorship (don’t know if he’d welcome that-again), maybe Ayton, Kispert, Gafford? I’m assuming WAS goes full rebuild/tank…so, maybe KP?

Packages I'd take for Herro -

- 11 and Harris/Okeke
- Franz and 27 or 34

Thoughts?

Easy no to the second one, and a no to the first one. Id rather draft Hawkins at 11 and use our caps pace on a vet than trade for Herro.

If Paolo, Franz, Suggs, WCJ, #6 are off the table - yeah

But then the only package we can really offer is 11 + some of our spare parts (Fultz, Isaac, Harris, Bol, Cole) - I don’t really see us being good trade partners

I'd do Herro for Cole, Okeke and 11. Would you?

Not a fan of hero but It seems like a fair deal

I wouldn’t mind Herro but if we wanted to get a shooter and keep our assets maybe we can take on some salary to facilitate trade instead and get Krispert for taking on said salary dump?

Then we have a young proven shooter on a rookie deal so we can take a chances at boom or bust prospects with Picks #6 and #11.

I'd rather sign GTJ in FA than give up a lottery pick for Herro. Kispert is alright, but again we have a ton of capspace and we better use it to get shooters. No need to take on any bad contracts for Kispert.

Nobody loves Cole more than me but 11 + Cole + Okeke for Herro is a deal as far as I'm concerned.

Herro does his best work from 3, which is what we need with Paolo and Franz. He plays a position that we need, he's the right age and he's offense first, which works fine with our roster.

I think this is a great trade for us. I'm all about it.

Does anyone think that Gradey Dick isn't just Herro's clone. I rather just take him at 11 than trade 11+Cole for the same exact player.

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Gradey has to hit and nobody in the draft is guaranteed to make it.

Also, drafting Gradey at 11 is easier said than done. There's the risk you don't trade 11 for Herro and then get to pick 11 without having Gradey on the board. Now what?

Side note: I wonder if adding Herro is then enough for us to sell FVV on signing with us. Not sure we'd have the cap space after Herro but we might be able to manufacture it.

If it works out we go into next season with:

PG: FVV/MCW
SG: Herro/Suggs
SF: Franz/Houstan
PF: Paolo/Moritz/Bol
C: Wendell/Goga

Assuming we have to dump JI, Harris and maybe Fultz too to have the space. Add in pick 11 and 3 more cheap vets. Or perhaps we actually take our 2rp.

Food for thought.

I don’t know if it means anything but I was at the Dr Phillips Publix today and Draymond Green was shopping there, for some reason. Curious if it means anything FA-wise.

I'm in the same boat, the trade compromising our cap space is the biggest cost in the trade.

Also not the biggest fan of Herro, and not a fan of helping the Heat by taking the Herro contract off their hands

Trade down for Sensabaugh. Trade 11 for Simons. Trade 11 for any other dude that just jacks up 3s?

I'm in between NY and Orlando but that's kinda funny, I live(d) about 5 mins from there.

Wouldn't be surprised if athletes just enjoy being in Florida during the offseason especially for golf or special events. But I did hear he was going to opt out.

I’d prefer Gary Trent Jr more than Herro, plus GTJ is free out of cap space.

Herro’s threes are not that consistent either

It feels like talks are starting to heat up and we have the assets and space to offer for a FVV, Lavine or Lamelo.

Who knows maybe this is the year we finally a splash.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

That would be too fast. We learned our lesson with the Oladipo era.

Our franchise player is gonna be a 2nd yr this coming season. You get a star to complement your franchise ideally 3rd-4th year when the team has grown organically and you spot the weaknesses.
