Raptors have to give up more than that. I wish they didn’t but we have to stop being such homers about this.

Thank you for adding the context. I’m sure the usual suspects will just gloss over it though.
There couldn’t possibly be an agenda in leaks at this time the year…

WE have to give up more????
We're essentially trading Pascal for #2 straight up.
We're not adding anything. If Por wants Siakam they have to add Sharpe + 3raf1995 wrote:LarSiN wrote:raf1995 wrote:If the third pick is valued more than Siakam (which I think it is), what would we be willing to add to Siakam to get a deal done? #14? OG? Maybe OG is included as well and we take back 23?
Siakam + OG for 3 + 23 is just awful, as is Siakam + 13 for 3 (no offense to you)
Ok fine, but what are you willing to add to Siakam to get Scoot? Because #3 for Siakam isn’t something Portland would (or should) agree to.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Still no where close to actually contending so timelines won’t match. Get the best asset possible now. Getting 3-4 weak first round picks possibly, in the future isn’t better than a guaranteed top 3 pick in a great draft class.
I will go back to my previous point. If the Raps feel the guy available at #3 this year is screaming franchise potential, you make the trade. If they feel the #3 pick is a bit of a crapshoot like most drafts, then you hold out for more.
I'm always uncomfortable with people saying this is a "great draft class". I've heard that line before even for weak drafts. The fact that every team with a pick in the 3-10 range is trying to trade it is alarming to me.
“Multiple sources have described the Raptors as frustrating to deal with.” that was just posted. So I think Masai asks for unreasonable returns because he does not want to trade anyone.

We’re not adding anything. There should be no reason to add to an All NBA talent in his prime for a #3 pick
We want this deal to happen but let’s not get delusional and undervalue pascal so much. He’d be a massive addition for Portland and Dame
If Pascal was 26 and had 3+ years on his deal, 3 for Pascal would be fair. But a generational PG prospect is not getting moved straight up for a 29 year old expiring contract. And yeah, he made all nba 2nd team 3 years ago, but he’s not considered a top 20 player in the nba anymore. You sound like Masai.

2018 Luka Doncic, Slovenia – Dallas Mavericks
2017 Jayson Tatum, Duke – Boston Celtics
2016 Jaylen Brown, California – Boston Celtics
2015 Jahlil Okafor, Duke – Philadelphia 76ers
2014 Joel Embiid, Kansas – Philadelphia 76ers
2013 Otto Porter, Georgetown – Washington Wizards
2012 Bradley Beal, Florida – Washington Wizards
2011 Enes Kanter, Kentucky – Utah Jazz
2010 Derrick Favors, Georgia Tech – New Jersey Nets
How many of them would you take over Pascal? There's a risk we significantly lose this trade if Scoot doesn't pan out, and that's worth something. Accept it.
