Hiring a rookie head coach with zero experience as head coach on any level is not the right decision when contention is the goal.

Not sure why everyone continues to jump on JRoy.

He’s a tanker. Wants to build the through the draft for many of the same reasons tWo exists (not a FA destination, high end talent typically found top of draft, control player W/ rookie deal and RFA).

IMO difference between JRoy/Portland and tWo/Raptors is Lillard is a legit 1st option who’s had dreadful management.

I've only been here since 2012 but from my memory it was a large movement on here back in 2013 advocating for trading Rudy Gay, DeMar DeRozan, and Kyle Lowry in order to tank for Canadian Superstar prospect Andrew Wiggins. There were even avatars and signatures ppl were rocking to show support for the idea.

However the tank was unexpectedly blown up when Rudy Gay was traded as the pieces that came from Sacramento provided depth and the loss of Gay propelled Lowry into becoming the guy who would lead Toronto for almost a decade

It laid dormant for years but had now sprung back up in 2020 when the team played in Tampa and support for tWo fluctuates nowadays.

I would be shocked if Ujiri actually trades Siakam at this point. He may have made that Kawhi deal but somethings changed with him over the past few seasons. Either due to age, championship hangover, or perhaps he’s burned too many people around the league but he’s just become so risk averse and unwilling to budge.

In his mind, his intention to let Vanvleet and maybe Trent go in sign and trades is his idea of a shock makeover. That’s probably what he was alluding to in his ‘don’t blink, don’t put down the phone’ spiel.
