If this trade was offered last year during the trade deadline we would be all donating organs to let this happen

Re: Miami Heat Off-Season 2.0 - Life is BEALtiful
My wish list remains
Damian Liliard
Brook Lopez
I think Klay Thompson, Kawhi and Paul George are also available. Those are teams that may be looking to shed salary. I think pending his physicals, an offseason where we acquire PG and Brook Lopez most definitely puts us back in contention.
Beal was never in my wish list..

Dame will stay there. I'm sure another team will make a better offer than us, even if it's a trade-off. **** you pat

Beal at 25 million per year is a quality trade. You trade what you need to get him here. At double that...man that's tough. His contract was straight doo doo and that's why he's not a Heat.

Really wanted Beal here and Dame has little to no chance of happening. Cap issues abound that everyone seems to think doesn’t matter when it truly does.

Very interesting from Barry’s latest article. I hadn’t really thought about this but if the Heat can get Beal for Lowry/Dipo/Jokic and the 18th pick then they’d still have a realistic path towards obtaining 3 additional first round picks to trade.
To do this they’d have to get the thunder to agree to take an unprotected 26 pick instead of the 25 pick. While on the surface it may seem questionable why they’d do that, it could potentially be attractive to the Thunder because Jimmy will be a year older in following the 25/26 season (36 years old) as opposed to 35 years old coming off of the 24/25 season so there’s potential for them to take a bet on a better pick than what’ll likely be another pick around 20 in 2025.
If we facilitate that we’d have 3 picks to trade, 24/28/30 and Duncan and Herro’s contracts.
Yep and Herro could be sent somewhere like the Spurs to play with Wemby and his boy Keldon for 2 1sts which would give us 5 and enough to go after Lillard. Lillard and Beal is a pipe dream but the point is we can get Beal and still have a **** ton of assets after to use elsewhere on an all in deal or 2 if we wanted
The Spurs hang up the phone lol. They are not trying to win year one, they have a plan to gradually get better so they can get another lottery pick next year. They dont want to deal with the Lebron/Luca effect, where the teams won so early it backfired on them. They will take it slow and easy thinking of the big picture.
This could be the case, But remember this is the Spurs and Coach Popavich, not sure how long Pop will want sit around before winning games.
They also have Toronto's 2024 FRP which is top 6 protected pick from 2024-2026 with Toronto about to lose FVV and trade Siakam and OG so they will likely have another pick within 6-14 in the next two years.
Then they also have CHA's 2024 FRP top 14 protected pick from 2024-2026
They have ATLs 2025 and 2027 unprotected FRPs and a 2026 pick swap.
They have all these plus their own picks and even with Wemby, Herro and Johnson without much else I doubt they are going to come out of next season with a huge winning record.
