Man I wanted the Heat to draft Draymond since he's basically the epitome of a Pat Riley guy, but not at this point in his career lol.

This isn't on FO. Beal wanted PHX end of story. Suns just sent a pile of ****. Any deal we would sent would have been miles better. Players these days want the easy route. Beal saw KD, Booker and saw an easy path to a chip.

Bad cap state for the Heat. They created it themselves with some of these **** up contracts they handed out. Beal would have been another to be honest.
Oh so we do have bad contracts… like Tyler Herro.. im telling you all that was bad cap management not letting him hit the RFA market and seek an offer sheet.. we would be debating whether to match or let go of a 85 million offer sheet.. massive overpay.. goodnluck trying to trade that contract
Yeah, its too bad. We have paid several guys before they were due or too much when they didn't deserve it. Bam. Signed too soon. Lowry. Signed for way too much. Herro. Signed for too much. Duncan... way too much. This is after we paid journey men their career best contracts and wallowed through that for four years. We are not learning our lessons on how to pay players. I'd say we are near the bottom of the league when handing out contracts. Best we've done is Caleb Martin. Our only real good deal.

I dont think it waa us lowballing, Suns offer is crap.
I see 2 things here. Either Beal prefered the Suns straight up or we backed out for various reasons.

Wiz wanted full expiring’s and with our salary situation we couldn’t pull it off. I was stressing this but nobody wanted to listen. A trade of Lowry and Oladipo would have never worked for us. Just look at the numbers
You kept saying they wanted Herro. That is not what the deal ultimately was. This is not a better deal than what the Heat have been rumored to be offering. I think Beal just wanted PHX more.
They needed to take Herro to make the damn trade work for us. We needed them to take on salary to make the trade work. I was hoping they wanted Herro and assumed he would be part of there rebuild but they really wanted a clean slate we couldn’t provide without Donkey punching our cap into 2nd apron oblivion

It aint over yet.. i said it a few days ago on the other thread, Beal for Herro is a wash.. Beal offers nothing defensively, and cant stay healthy. I honestly dont even know how Beal/Booker/Durant fit together, neither excel off the ball.. but thats the Suns problems, they can deal with trying to take turns in iso..
Lets get Brook Lopez here.. lets talk to Portland, Golden State for Klay (if theyre willint to shed salary), the clipps may be looking to shed slaary and cut ties with PG and Kawhi, Tyron Lue isnt extending his contract which is all you need to know about their situation.
We still have plenty of ways to improve the roster.

Again, Beal to me has negetive value on that deal. But #18 alone shouldv'e gotten it done, he's a better player then Herro.
I'm fine with not overpaying for him, but #18 should have been enough.
Biggest thing is this 0 Beal isn't some amazing superstar - BUT WHAT IT OUR PLAN NOW?
WE CAN'T RUN IT BACK!

Who cares about Beal? Always hurt and doesn't play defense. I only liked the trade because we would send Kyle L out of here.
Just sign Nasty Lopez and re-sign our free agents.
Pat has 3 rings with Miami, and we are the East Champs. Respect!

I imagine if we had Beal, we might've had enough offense to win a chip. That dang contract though.....man, so bad. You pay Jokic that contract, not Beal.

I dont think the Heat backed out. Seems like the GM pissed off the Wizards and traded him to Suns in spite.

Beal basically gets us a championship. When people say put your money where you mouth is, its not a metaphor. We have seen time after time what we do and dont do. This is something that James Jones used to help sell the idea of Beal coming over. One team is not scared to pay, they will put their money where their mouth is. The other team uses winning like a cheap pr phrase. When it comes time to spending to win we dont. 3 out of 4 years we do nothing.

Currently as it stands we can’t run it back without cutting some serious salary. With only 3.8 million away from 2nd apron we will be paying Strus and Vincent double anything we offer in tax alone.

It was Beal's decision. If we had an offer on the table, as bad as it was, if Beal said i would only go to Miami it would've been a done deal. I'm all for blaming the FO but its not the case here.
Also i think we dodged a bullet there. His contract is one of the worst in the league
