Currently as it stands we can’t run it back without cutting some serious salary. With only 3.8 million away from 2nd apron we will be paying Strus and Vincent double anything we offer in tax alone.

Was never a huge Beal fan BUT

1) he's better then Herro

2) we CANT RUN IT BACK (and shouldn't)

3) What's the plan now?!

In the end....only the Suns owner was dumb enough to take on that Beal contract and the tax bill that comes with it.

Beal basically gets us a championship. When people say put your money where you mouth is, its not a metaphor. We have seen time after time what we do and dont do. This is something that James Jones used to help sell the idea of Beal coming over. One team is not scared to pay, they will put their money where their mouth is. The other team uses winning like a cheap pr phrase. When it comes time to spending to win we dont. 3 out of 4 years we do nothing.

Hard to argue with their methods with all these deep playoff runs though. An injury break here or there and were champs one of these last few years.

It aint over yet.. i said it a few days ago on the other thread, Beal for Herro is a wash.. Beal offers nothing defensively, and cant stay healthy. I honestly dont even know how Beal/Booker/Durant fit together, neither excel off the ball.. but thats the Suns problems, they can deal with trying to take turns in iso..

The fundamentals of the Beal trade were just taking on salary at a bargain rate of our trash players. This was as easy as it can get, it's like running the fast break with no one behind you and we bleeped it up.

All of those other proposed players will cost real assets, and worse still take us into the tax so it's not realistic. This was the cheapest one could get an Allstar for, all we needed to do was pay the tax. We can talk about winning and culture until we are blue in the face but actions speak louder than words. I cant even get mad at Pat, well maybe a little but at the end of the day it was always about the tax.

Bad cap state for the Heat. They created it themselves with some of these **** up contracts they handed out. Beal would have been another to be honest.

Need to get off of Oladipo and Robinson accounting for up to 28 million worth of cap money that can be used to sign our free agents and MLE player. Lowry’s expiring next year is needed to wash those salaries out. It’s a fine line slippery slope

I don't feel that way. We paid Lowry 30 million a year at retirement age. He has not earned that. Paid Duncan too much and didn't find PT for him. Paid Bam early. Paid Herro early and too much. Paid Waiters and crew... We def pay.

Hell, paying Beal would've been another Miami mistake. I still would've done it based on how close we were to winning it all, and the need for offense, but it's still a baaaad contract.

No that's not why. Players choose easy path. KD only wanted Suns cuz of Booker. Heat were wasting their time in that negotiations. Same here Beal wanted Suns cuz he saw KD, Booker, Ayton as a guaranteed chip. KD& Booker > Bam & Butler in most players eyes. I don't know what the FO is supposed to do there.
