It looks like this can drag on for a little while.

If Beal wants to go to a superteam, we can send him to the Warriors for Poole and some combination of Kuminga/Moody/Baldwin/Rollins/picks.

The Suns CP3 trade just can not happen. Any trade with the Suns must involve Ayton. Ayton is the only asset the Suns have that would be remotely interesting to us.

If Beal wants to win a championship, Curry/Beal/Wiggins/Draymond/Looney with Klay off the bench is arguably better than Booker/Beal/Durant/MLE guy/Ayton, anyway. Durant is hurt all the time and the Suns depth would be completely nonexistent.

As a Suns fan, I think that this is a smoke screen. I'm thinking WAS is using us to get Riley to up the deal and we're cool with it for whatever reasons. Maybe the Wiz and Suns do another deal later after BB is moved. Either way, I agree it doesn't make a lot of sense but I will say this: if we trade you Shamet, Monty Williams is a HUGE fan of his. So much so there's constant jokes on our board that Monty wants him to marry his daughter (mostly cause Monty said that exact thing) so he has a thing for Shamet. I imagine WAS can re-route Shamet to DET for a decent return. At least the #31 pick I'd imagine as we all think Shamet will be the 1st player Monty tries to get. That will help some.

I still feel this is some game that the Wiz are trying to spit at Riley and Spo: "Oh you better give us Herro, or we'll trade him to PHX"

Something like that.

This. Beal wants Phoenix, but Washington prefers Miami as a trade partner. Beal might ultimately accept Miami, but he much prefers teaming up with KD in a more relaxing setting (no daily weigh-ins/body fat checks, etc.).

Beals agent is the father of the Suns CEO.
Why would they want to help extract a better return from Miami? It seems Beal would be better served with the smallest asset return to Washington.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

At this point - I don't care if the rebuild starts this year or next. Just start the rebuild as best you can and don't sign Kuzma.

If it waits until the trade deadline, or at the start of the '25 season, fine. This is going to take a long time to rebuild.

Both Miami and Phoenix trades work in only one direction and its not for the Wizards.
Picking between the two oldest PG's in the NBA is the best deal the Wiz can get ,shut these trade talks down and keep looking as Beal has expanded the teams he's open too.

last sentence I think you mean "until" Beal has expanded... -- right? I.e. don't take a trash deal for him.... I agree.

That contract he got... it's like going out having a suit custom made. Man you look great in the mirror -- a perfect fit.

Then a few days in, that perfect fit starts to feel just a little bit tight! -- hard to move around in it!

That's how Beal's "no-trade" clause is gonna start to feel pretty soon. Like maybe it's not the team it's restricting -- instead it's just restricting him!

Then, when the fans start booing.... & when he gets close to setting the record, they stop playing him....

Let's just hope it doesn't last that long.

Yeah I'm playing hard ball with Beal

*dictating terms or declining deals because you want your new team to keep all their assets is extremely selfish.

*there's no rush to make a bad deal from a Wizards perspective.

*keeping him on the roster going into next year is a strong possibility if the right deal is not available.

l*Beal's days playing a Wizards uniform are over. If he's still on the roster by training camp, ask him not to report and stay away - any hopes of becoming a Wizards all-time leading scorer is over. He can collect a check or if he wants to play, he needs to be more accomodating to the Wizards making a fair deal.

*Don't worry about the scuttlebutt or media blowback. To me getting saddled with bad contracts or getting little to nothing for Beal is worse. Wizards are basically paying him to sit which isn't the worst thing in the world.

It's worth noting that after this dog ---- Beal trade, in hysterical Wizards fashion, they need to tank, hahahahaha, 1 year after the Wembanyama draft. They should 1000% trade Porzingis and Kuzma. They need to rip it to its roots and we need to stay away for years.

Btw, I mean it, you die hards, if you expect anything to change ever, you need to stop watching and stop attending. Do what I do, watch the game results from afar, highlights are fine, but you should not give them a single thin dime EVER after the abomination of the Wall/Beal debacle. This disaster was called for nearly five straight ----ing years by some of the fan base while others in total denial believed Beal would always be fine with just getting paid the max and playing for a dog ---- team. Well, do you get it now guys? Do you get it now? Now, after we got literally nothing of value whatsoever with four draft classes and 4 deadlines before we stupidly gave him the bag, and now, SHOCK, we're left with nothing.

Some of us saw this coming years and years ago, some did not.

Time to turn the page, and look to move Morris, Wright, Porzingis, and Gafford. Load up on as many picks as we can before Thursday. Try and send CP3 to the lakers for #17.

Porzingis is the one I think we should build around long term...assuming he still wants to be here.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I can’t imagine the Lakers will give up anything for Chris Paul when they can probably wait it out and sign him for the minimum.

That’s of course assuming the Lakers and Paul want each other in the first place which I don’t necessarily think is a certainty.

Then you play hard ball and hold Paul till his deal expires in two years we have the ability just let him rot on a rebuild.

Hell no, they need to move every buddy out. Considering the '24 class is supposed to suck, I'd probably look for young players and picks after the '24 class (scout the ---- out of high school juniors and sophmores).

KP has to go. Low efficiency Kuz can lead the tank.

Return to Washington Wizards
