Picking between the 2 oldest PGs in the NBA (CP3 & Lowry) is what the new management team has going on for Beal is like trading Rui for Nunn.

I don't really see the comparison here. Like sure that Rui trade was not great but it was what Tommy ended up with and the real flaw was not moving nun for anything when you knew he wasn't gonna be back.

This is the mess Tommy left for the new guys. The difference is the heats off come with cap flexibility, probably cks and probably jovic. When it's all said and done.

This is exactly the structure of trade that makes the most sense: Beal for picks plus the expiring contracts of washed up players.

We're you expecting Beal for Wemby?

What a goofy take. Neither Paul nor Lowry are the main pieces in these offers. They are filler and more than likely get cut afterwards. This is a complete non-point.

No what we were all expecting ,young talent like Tyler Herro 23 yrs old and 2 yrs in a row of scoring 20 ppg .For a team that keeps getting deep in the playoffs it should tell ppl doubting Herro how much Miami by trying to hold on to him and pair him up with Beal how much Miami values him. Why would a losing team like the Wizards and its fans think Herro is not good enough for them in the rebuild .Fact is Herro is probably in better shape than any Wizard player as all Miami players are constantly tested for their conditioning.
Beal (given away) for old guys is not rebuilding and getting late 1st round picks means nothing but a roll of the dice.

I don't see there are any 1st round picks in this trade. I don't think the Suns have any to offer. (I may be completely wrong on that ... just what I read today and trying to remember the KD trade.)

I'm not sure what this means for the Wizards. Woj says that the trade isn't completed because the Wiz are trying to dump CP3 for some other assets. So, it looks like this is the start of a tank (one year too late). Presumably KP will also be traded. Kuz can stay because his (in)efficiency should lead to losses.

Let's wait until we actually see how the whole deal looks.

Keep in mind that even at his age Chris Paul is still one of the best PGs in the league -- & by far a better player than Bradley Beal. & I do mean "by far" -- he's a much much better player today than Bradley Beal has ever been even at his absolute peak.

OTOH, it's kinda hard to think of him as part of a rebuild... :)

I'm picking up his option that's for sure. Then let's see what we can get for him either now or at the deadline.

Chris Paul is almost your age. He’s not playing here, he’s being sent to a third team.

Do you realize that we got less for Beal that we got for Hachimura?
I knew it was going to be bad, but eeish... I gotta go throw up now. Back in a bit.

If need be, sit him on the bench indefinitely. We're not going to let him dictate terms here.

You might have to keep him then because that NTC he will hold the power in any deal.

Kind of ridiculous of all the players in the league Beal is the only player with a NTC. His agent deserves a raise!

Fine then. We will keep him and bench him. He is the one being unreasonable, not the Wizards.

I can't believe the Wizards took that deal.smh

What were your feelings on the deal?

Wizards are a joke. Jae Crowder was worth multiple firsts. We can’t even get one for Beal

No team owner would want to pay $250M for someone to get front row seats to an NBA Game. But supposing we do as you suggest and the team owner pays $250M for him to sit in street clothes and sip Mai-Tai's on the front row, the team doesnt get to start a rebuild, and we keep winning 20 games a season till his contract is done. I think the idea here is to win something, but I could be wrong about that.
The choice was to take the deal and move on, or flounder for a few more years till the contract is done.

Some seriously delusional takes here.

If you didn't think that the NTC was a death knell for any return the Wizards might hope to get from dealing Beal, you're probably among the small fraction of RealGM Wizards fans that thought we should keep and build around him in the first place.

A lot of you don't seem to appreciate how truly terrible Beal's contract is.

Most of us weren't wrong about the returns Miami was offering first round picks. Word is Sacramento was too. Bucks were probably offering Middleton which has value. We were not delusional about the value teams would offer. We were how ever unprepared for how selfish a piece of **** Beal was. Non of us thought he would force his was to a team like the suns that wasn't even on anyone's radar until we figured out the family thing

Bruh.

NTC, tell me again how it's not delusional to think that the Wizards would be in a position to maximize return
