Don’t see point of that trade for us, would rather hold the 1st rd pick for dame or make the pick for ourselves

People just want to be 2k GM. Deal to just to make a deal. Been around long enough to remember people mad that we didn't get Boozer in 2009

So when's Pat's end of the year press conference? Is he gonna go into hiding until Dame saga ends or what?

The tax implications, guarantied money.

I will say this, if I was running a team with cap space I smell blood in the water when it comes to us. We couldn't close the Beal deal because of tax implications. We need to either stretch out Olapio to make secondary moves like resigning our free agents and even then we are still in the tax. If I am a team with cap space I demand a first round draft pick to just take on Oladipo and his expiring contract because we know how adverse Mickey is to the tax.

People were upset we missed out on Gordon Hayward lol, only guys that I really really wanted that we missed out on are donovan mitchell and kd but we didn’t have the assets to outcompete those offers

Brings back two expiring's and rotation players. Upgrades over Duncan’s bloated salary. Not sure Spurs entertain it just spit balling. Some love Duncan’s salary overloading our cap it seems. Would give us wiggle room to deal Lowry.

They can try it out this year and if it doesn't work.. GET A TON FROM A KD TRADE! They're in a great situation. KD still has 3 years left on his contract, he's always wanted by teams.

KD is not fetching you a whole lot at age 36, sorry. There's also the issue of having to match his 50mil salary. If it doesn't work then it's Booker that they are going to have to jettison.

We are in win now mode, the pick does nothing to help that.

There is also a negative chance that we can get Dame. He likly won't ask out. Even if he asked out, he wouldn't be traded until a good enough offer is presented. The Heat have nothing that comes close to that and Nets a several teams could easily offer twice the value the Heat can.

That was Barry being SUPER irresponsible. I can't blame casual fans for eating that up because they don't give a crap about understanding cap implications. Barry on the other hand was just blasting tweets about absolute pipe dreams and he should know better but I guess maybe it got him more clicks on his Herald articles, idk.

Insider collusion you can’t really compete with that unfortunately, they got him for peanuts. Good luck to whichever coach had to deal with that roster lol

I wonder how the contracts align. They could have 50 mil coming off the books just in time for other star players. Players like Booker, which is painful knowing we could have drafted him but we took Winslow instead.

Wasn't that the same year as KD being a free agent?

The real question is - how do we acquire either a stretch 5, a switchable 4 with size and/or another offensive threat?

They’ll find cheap labor. The vets will go ring chasing.

I expect that from 5 reasons not Barry. Disappointed he stooped to that level
