6. Portland will look like absolute azzholes if he is traded to a non playoff team or one not close enough to content just on sheer value in return, when Lillard has been an absolute professional in his career staying over moving to a better situation.

Again, what the hell does this mean? Portland has made him stupid rich while Dame has gotten his numbers and not much else. The franchise has been loyal to him, not the other way around. Showing up for work and cashing your max checks is the absolute basic minimum that is expected from any player ... not some heroic act.

I'll take this moment to mention the unmentionable ... we ran our GOAT out of town to avoid giving him a multi-year deal at decent money. Not max money, just decent money. Whiteside money. And our GOAT was actually somebody in the NBA and had actually accomplished things for this organization. Dame Lillard hasn't done a god damn thing for anybody but Dame Lillard. He is just a better behaved Kyrie Irving.

I don't think anybody will argue with you that there isn't a better fit that Damian Lillard in Miami vs any other team in the league where people will argue with you is how it can happen, and the chance of it happening. We have seen this story too many times to keep falling for the peddling story of pay a pennie to cross the bridge we keep being sold and its an open trench we fall into time and time again.

I can see Portland trading pick #23 for some role player, keeping pick #3 and drafting with it. And then turning to Dame and telling him they did what they can to improve the roster and plan to re-sign Grant.

You might be right, I’m curious to see if they’re more likely to move it if Scoot is available or Miller. Scoot is more promising for their future but he’s also the better trade asset where as if Miller is there the trade offers will be pretty weak I’d say

Hell if I’m the hornets I’d draft scoot at 2 and then offer Ball for the 3rd pick and Simons to Portland so they can have their PG to replace Dame when he leaves this summer. Turn and move some Dame assets for OG and keep grant who wants a larger role in the offense anyways.
