Has the return been confirmed? Did we get six picks? If so, whose and what years?

I wonder if Phoenix removed the NTC clause form Beal Contract or left it. Looks like the other teams asked him to remove it from the contract and he refused. Maybe Phoenix didnt force that

Todd is a great tank commander though.

I’m curious: Woj said that 6 2nd round picks is equivalent to two FRP. How? Is that possible? Is that the new value? Can someone please explain?

Woj is doing damage control. He's trying to paint this as a decent deal as a favor to the agent so that no one looks too deep into how crooked this was and maybe Beal doesn't get painted as a villain.

I hope there was some underhanded understanding that Adam Silver is going to fix the lottery for us...not next year(too obvious) but in the next 1-2 drafts afterwards

Honestly might have been an understanding that if Ted and winnger play nice they will get rewarded in draft lotos and make sure we don't loose our pick to NYC

If we actually make even half decent choices for these second rounders we’ll have really great fodder for the board. Who’s languishing in the g league and should be given a shot, when should we cut bait on the shooter that can’t play any D. That part is gonna be a lot of fun.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

All the Wizards had to do is decline the trade then. And hold Beal until the trade deadline while trying to get a better deal

I would trade Paul to the Lakers right now for Bamba, Beasley and some second round picks. Bamba and Beasley wouldn't get their options picked up so we're roughly at $100 million in salaries with the cap being $134 million.

Secondly, 2024 offseason will be interesting because assuming a Deni extension at $15 million per, we're around $100 million in cap room next offseason. That's also the summer teams are going to scramble to get rid of contracts because of the new CBA. Famous last words, but I don't expect the rebuild to last longer than a couple of seasons. I think being in the East speeds things up quite a bit.

I'm amazed at how intense -- & how various -- the response is to this trade.

I think the vituperation in Beal's direction makes no sense. Blame the no-trade clause on whoever decided to give it to him. The rest is just common sense.

Maybe it was Tommy? But, you can be sure that Ted had to sign off on a deal worth a quarter billion dollars. All he had to do was say no.

The other aspect of response I find amazing is the seemingly complete discount of how tremendous a player CP3 is -- even today.
I just don't get that.

The most cursory examination of what he does on the court vs. what Beal does on the court tells you that right now today he is a much much better player than Brad. It's not even close to tell the truth.

Yet no one seems to give any weight to that obvious fact.
It'll start to be obvious when Phoenix does worse instead of improving. Wait & see.

Myself, I'd keep CP3 for the first part of this season, watch him excel (I have no doubt he will), & then move him at the deadline -- hopefully to the team that proceeds to eliminate Phoenix in R1 of the playoffs! Yeah! Just had that thought -- that would be sublime!!!

CP3 is an all time great, and was very good last year. But he’s not going to make it to our next playoff team, so to us he’s a tradable asset. Problem is Phoenix was apparently about to waive him after not finding trade partners for him at 30 million. So we’ll likely get little for him, distressed contracts and maybe a second round pick.

We could very well get something for him if we make it clear we intend to keep him ala OKC unless we find fair value. CP3 is on a good contract and continues to be a starting caliber PG.

Truly makes you wonder if there was an ounce of credibility to any of those Miami-Beal trade speculations posted to Twitter every 30 seconds.
