Toronto with Pascal, OG, Barnes and FVV was a .500 team.
Pascal will be expecting a max contract next summer with the new CBA firmly in place, which
added to Dame makes Portland an expensive team

Dame is also head and shoulders better than anyone else Pascal is currently playing with, so comparing their record is kind of pointless.

Pascal was also not the problem with that team, much like how Dame isn't the problem with us.

Re: Ant, Nurk & #3 For...
I'm still not a fan of Siakam, especially if you get Brandon Miller at 3 and at 20% of the salary of Pascal.
I also don't see the need for OG if we resign Thybulle at a fraction of the price that OG is expecting on his extension.
What we need is a center/PF upgrade. If Scoot goes 2 and we land Miller, keep Miller. If Charlotte takes Miller and Scoot falls to us, one of:
3 and Nurkic for:
- 6, 11 and WCJ - get us a switchable center, take Walker or Hendricks at 6 and Lively at 11
- 7 and Turner - get a nice upgrade at center and one of Walker or Hendricks at 7
and still have Simons to trade or keep and use as 6th man.
6 to Houston
both Brooklyn picks returned and Simons to Brooklyn
Bridges to Portland

That Raptors team however won 48 games the year before and added Poetl in February. Is Dame by himself
better than OG, FVV and Barnes? Not according to those Raptors fans who were sneering when Portland offered
a player +7 for OG prior to the 2022 draft.
I still could see Portland trading for Pascal but really don't think his addition to Portland would make Portland
a playoff contender. He's not an elite player but merely a very solid player, who next summer expects to be
getting a max contract

Re: Ant, Nurk & #3 For...
Simons, Nurkic and #3 for Siakam and Precious works out. You solve your 3/4 spots and Precious should be ready to provide good PF minutes. Hard bruising rebounding 4 who can knock down 3s now.
Then you can S&T Grant to acquire help at the C spot and maybe bench depth. Draft #23 for more bench depth.
That's a far better team then what you currently have, you don't sacrifice Sharpe or the future. Fair value for both sides and neither is fleecing the other. I understand that Pascal is an expiring but he is loyal and is almost certainly not a flight-risk.

Your "understanding" and "certainty" doesn't help at all. If he does walk, the Blazers wasted a #3 pick, a useable starting Center, and a valuable young scorer for nothing (sorry, a 9/6 bench PF doesn't make up the difference). Do you see why most every Blazer fan and likely the Blazer FO would hate this deal that keeps stinking up the place? It's not fair value for an expiring contract.
EDIT: Barney, at this stage I certainly wouldn't trade #3 OR Simons for Siakam straight up if it were possible. If he were on a contract, then that's a different story. But he's not, and no assurance from a random fan makes him more likely to stay in Portland.

Would Orlando do this:
ORL: Ant-Little
HOU: 6-11
CHI: 23
WAS: Isaac-Nurkic-20
POR: 4-Bol-KP

Re: Ant, Nurk & #3 For...
Siakem was NEVER going to be traded for the #3 overall pick in a 3 player draft.
This was never an issue, never a possibility, etc and it cracks me up that there were so many threads over it(granted 85%+ were from toronto fans trying to get a super premium asset for pascal, but still)....

Portland(really no team would be) isn't interested in breaking up the #3 into smaller parts/pieces. And even #4 does that in this draft because everyone agrees there is a clear top 3.....
And no way would KP in his situation have been the difference between 3 and 4(which this year is massive)

3rd pick isn’t in this trade scenario.

This scenario gets Portland 3 and 4.
