Portland #3 trade rumors part 2

I predict Hornets/Pelicans make a deal centered around Zion/Scoot swap....I think Blazers try and move the pick but no deal happens so they just select Miller.....Lillard going to ask out going to Miami.....We pick 13, Try and resign FVV, Lose GTJR for nothing and run it back with the same squad minus GTJR and add a Rookie to replace him....

We have another losing season with no draft pick next year.....We then go into next offseason with OG/Siakam as Free agents...We lose OG for nothing and sign Siakam to the supermax....

This is my prediction

Don't know why, but I think it's possible the most likely happened scenario if someone didn't find that FVV & Siakam are like Masai's baby, parents always love their kid.

I think Raptors include depth pieces here and potentially send Simons to a third team to balance it out for POR.

I definitely prefer some framework of

Pascal + OG + Depth (Boucher+)

A guy who has missed 200 games over four seasons, has shown no ability to maintain a healthy weight that will help him avoid injury, and seems to have every injury suddenly extend into near season long issues? That guy?

Portland can go ahead and do that and watch it blow up in their faces. Siakam may not be as good Zion, but like he actually plays and can be relied on. I don't think that much leverage at all unless Portland really would love risking the #3 pick for potentially absolutely nothing.

When he plays he’s easily a top 7-8 player in the league.

He's in the top 15 range and has potential but his injury issues are bigger than Currys by a lot (curry basically missed 75% of his sophomore year but played 70+ till 17-18). And Curry has shown effort in improving his body that Zion has never shown and 4 years in his FO has cold feet cause he can't play. We're going into year 5 and Zion has played 114 games. One deep playoff run you're pushing 85+ games total even with heavy load management. Siakam has availability and with Dames injury concerns idk if they can risk the fragility of a Zion/Dame team. Until proven otherwise "Healthy Zion" may as well be a damn unicorn.

But doesn't that mean Portland has more money coming in? It's tough for portland to match salaries. I didn't want to take Nassir or Keon, but needed to.

I'm actually with JRoy, I wouldn't do that trade from their perspective. Too thin. Possibly too much duplication with Grant, OG, and Siakam. Only one year of contract control.

I'd be trading Dame, but his contract might make the return seem light for PDX.
