I’d do Zion, Daniels and 14. Those two pieces have to be included. And I’d try to give back Rozier as well.

I think Daniels is a good get. The 14 is just another asset, even if we trade 14 and 27 for a future first or get our first back from San Antonio. I’d really like Dick or George but they’d probably be gone at 14.

Wait until you hear that Pelicans want 2, 27 and a future first for Zion lol.
Everyone assuming that we would get more, I feel confident that Pelicans are approaching it from the other direction.

After giving a trade for Zion more thought I just don't think you make a franchise altering move like that right before new ownership comes in.

Odd timing to hold a press conference:

I know in the NFL predraft pressers are common, at least for the Panthers they are. I can’t remember if they’ve done this in the past or not though.

Yeah, this strikes me as extremely unusual and out of the normal way our FO operates.

Well that makes me nervous. The odds of a trade just went up. Why else would he do that?

I know in the NFL it’s common to do pressers just to talk about the entire process. I remember in the one the Panthers did they talked about specific players (Young, Stroud, Richardson) and how they came to their decision. He could just talk about how they brought the players in, performed second workouts with Scoot/Miller, will entertain trades with the other picks, etc. That’s all I expect from this

Setting expectations with the fans is smart business, but this organization has never bothered to do that. Maybe new ownership wants to change that?

Did they have a press conference before the draft when they traded for Marco Belinelli?

Cho held it while the draft was still ongoing, something I'll never forget. He should have been fired the next day.

Article saying unlikely Zion is moved ahead of the draft, then says Ingram even less likely.

Yup, that sucked. It was before we were on the clock, I was with friends grabbing wings and beer to watch the draft and that definitely spoiled the experience.

Maybe it is to announce a trade of pick 27 or something else?

At least it was a bad draft and even was being marketed as such. So in hindsight we look back and not like we missed out on anyone crazy

I dunno, I was hoping for Brogdon or Zubac who both would have helped, although I also think Damian Jones and Zizic were interesting at the time.

It has nothing to do with a trade. Probably just to tell the media we are keeping the pick and will choose between Scoot or Miller.
