No way I’m trading my 27 year old all nba first team superstar for picks. They should move everyone except Booker when it comes down to it.

What I mean is at some point when the Suns begin to rebuild, they’ll be able to trade Booker for the FRPs they had to give up for KD/Beal.

Well not really. Miami is a good if rare example of why you hold onto a superstar. I think the Suns have picks out to 2019 so rebuilding really doesn’t make a ton of sense and is essentially a half measure because they’ll be at the mercy of a better team’s picks. They’ll trade Ayton first, then KD, then probably Beal last because of the no trade clause and being on the younger side. If I’m them, I’m holding onto Booker with a god damn vice grip and only trade him for another star.

Yup to many people worried about someone else's money. Also even with the penalties in the new CBA you lose your MLE. So what, lol you're getting a guy like Jae Crowder for the MLE. Beal is over paid, but the he's much more talented than anyone you would get for the MLE.

For them Beal plus minimum contracts is a better deal that whatever trash you get for the MLE.

Exactly. Two weeks ago we were talking about Phoenix waiving Paul to get access to the MLE which would have put them into the luxury tax anyways. Now they got a player who’s better than anyone they could have gotten for the MLE and it’s supposed to be a bad thing for Phoenix? These takes are beyond idiotic. Is Phoenix a championship team? No. Did they get better for the regular season? Yes. Did they get better for the playoffs? Debatable. Did they absolutely crush this **** trade getting a guy who’s literally 10 years younger than the cooked guy they traded? Yes.
I agree that Beal > MLE obviously. However, his contract is going to create many long-term problems for their franchise. There's little to no way that they can keep Ayton, Booker and KD with Beal the way that the new CBA works.

The Brooklyn Nets were a laughing stock, that was a waste of time. Philly lost to us in the playoffs the only year they had a chance - Butler, Harris and Embiid.

The implication that this will have on picks and free agency will be debilitating. Also, you won't be able to get the picks and packages of players that teams have relied on recently to offload their stars.

I think that people are overeating the value of a scorer when you already have that. There's only one ball. Ayton is now just Tristan Thompson, a garbage-man rebounder on cleanup duty.

They already sealed their fate last year with the KD trade when they traded away their picks. This trade doesn’t make that any worse. Again in regards to free agency they were a tax team regardless of this trade.

They will actually be in decent shape in 2 years with the new TV deal, the cap will be around 170, and the luxury tax threshold around 220. Although the contract looks terrible in 2025 when max deal’s start at around 70 million his wont be that bad at that time.

Phillys mistake was not keeping Butler, they had his bird rights, management thought he wasn’t controllable.

The Brooklyn Nets were absolutely dominant when they played together. Unless Bradley Beal has some sideways opinions about Jewish people, the Suns big 3 should be okay in the regular season even taking injuries into account.

Literally Philly’s problem was that they didn’t keep their allstar trio. The thing that people don’t acknowledge about the luxury tax is that it’s going to **** a lot of teams. The interesting thing about the luxury tax is that a lot of teams will pivot to filling out their bench with draft picks which means there will be a lot of rotational players available for the vet min. You just have to look at where the market is going with the rule changes and the Suns took the opportunity to lock in a more talented team over the cap vs working under the same restrictions with less talented players.

Surprised they got Poole for CP3. What a steal. What a dumb trade by Golden State. Giving up Poole for nothing at all after how big he was helping them win a championship all because of the emotions of Draymond

Poole was super trash in WAS year 1. Like, tank commander level trash 52.9% TS on 26 USG lol.
He's been better this year but he's shooting the 3 at like a 20% clip over his career norm. I don't expect that to continue, especially not year over year...and despite this, he's still only BARELY an above average player making $30m for 2 more years. Basically, he's as close as you can get to a slightly worse RJ getting paid slightly more.
