Correct. So it’s on Riley to get him help to get him over the top

Sorry Bam can’t be a real championship scorer or #2 option.

He is closer to Rob Williams than Jayson Tatum

You can’t build around a guy who gets his lunch taken by Clint Capela and Okongwu every time

He mentioned getting Butler help with the growth of Bam and Herro.

If Bam can be finals Bam aggressive all year and develop a better post game (power moves, hook shot, Shaq shimmy and turn) and Herro becomes just a little bit more efficient, then that’s a feasible option. We don’t really need to blow it up, we need a scorer who could help when the game bogs down to a crawl and we suddenly can’t throw the ball in the ocean.

But also, like I just said. Whatever he said today is nonsense. He’s essentially behaving like a parent just telling a kid whatever to shut them up. Means nothing.

Hanging on every word he is saying is absurd lmao

I don't get why he's holding this press conference today other than to prepare everyone for not much happening.

"Subtle moves will be enough for me to be content with the offseason" - Pat Riley

Bruh.

In 2005, Wade got the freak rib injury in the ECF. Everyone knew if no freak injury, Heat go to Finals and possibly beat the Spurs.

Did Pat say, "Subtle moves is enough, we have enough to win"

NO

Pat traded Eddie Jones, Damon Jones, grabbed Jason Williams, James Posey, Antoine Walker, Gary Payton....

damn near traded half the team and made us even stronger

I am convinced Pat is done. He needs to retire. He's not hungry anymore. Wade-Lebron-Bosh Big 3 made him fat and happy.

We needed big change after last year's ECF. We need big change now. But he's laid back and waiting for the right trade, or else "run it back"

Okay Pat time to retire. I'm serious!

Contradictory no? Want to get him support but while keeping your biggesg eaners in Bam and Herro. What are you gonna get with the crap assets you have. Herro is literally your only Asset good enough to pull the right amount of support. Oh, i get it he means like an MLE minimun player veteran on his last legs. Got it.

SO you want him to go and say he wants to trade Herro cause he wain't good enough? Then what happens if no one trades for him? Have a disgruntled Herro on the roster after he gets thrown under the bus?

He’s literally said a bunch of nothing and you all are losing your ****

He’s been hit with tampering violations before he’s going to be cautious and he’s not going to throw the players under the bus by saying he’s trading them

However you have some drawbacks. You have to re structure, sell it to the fanbase the Jimmy window is closed, trade Jimmy to a contender if he wanted to. You definately have to do the trade on draft day, no way in hell im picking Miller at 3 in exchange for Bam if Hornets take Scoot. You hope Jommy would want out so you get Picks and young players. You have Scoot, Herro, PlayerfromJimmy trade, Jovic, Playerfrom jimmytrade starting.

Is everyone absolutely certain Scoot Henderson isn't Dennis Smith Jr?

Ive watched him play, he isnt. See Dennis Smith Jr videos in college and watch Scoot then come back. Theres a reason Pelicans and others are trying their hardest to get into that pick.

I'm mostly just playing devil's advocate re the unpredictability of the draft.

Smith was a high flying freak athlete that lived in the paint in college while still putting up respectable 3-point numbers. I think Scoot is going to be legit. But, there's always the other side.

Leonard Miller actually scored more ppg on the same G Leage team this season.

He does it every year regardless of what’s going on with the team

No, you don't have to be specific, but if you're going to be aggressive you can mention that you're not satisfied and will always look to get better. Oh yeah... less laughing would be useful.

Honestly, listening to most of this, it seems like he's just saying stuff to say stuff. Fun to speculate on but doesn't really tell us his mindset right now.

He may not be way off with this. At least we should do something. Doesn’t have to be a star but finally add some quality depth. Phuck adding Bojan Bogdonovic would feel like adding a star right now

Going off recent history... when pat says he will wait for right trade, or else he's fine with "run it back"

You take him seriously. Because that's what he's done.

He has lost his sense of urgency and hunger. He doesn't want it as bad as he used to.

And the Heat has made 2, almost 3 Finals, out of the last 4 years. So were those the wrong decisions?

Is the goal with this trade to be middling into perpetuity?

Right now, a large rebounding center who stays around the basket can destroy Miami. Something that simple can beat this roster.
