I read somewhere that Pat said "Whiteside is an important part of what we are trying to do" and then traded him 2 days later

so... perhaps Pat is not okay with running it back and he's just doing the same thing

Well, they've been talking about Miami going after Dame, so what's the difference?

Exactly. Blazers got them to flip the script

It is kinda funny watching the fanbase freak out over the same thing being done to us that many of us have been doing to other teams' stars the entire season and post season.

The Blazers in particular have had to watch Dame be in talks about being traded to us for at least a season and half. With likely there never being any intention on their part to do so. Bam gets mentioned once and everyone loses it and he's not even a star like Dame.

I can’t believe that people think that “running it back” is a viable option at this point. Do we really want to punt a year?

Punt a 2nd year (the FO didn't replace Tucker and did nothing at the trade deadline), this team just happened to get some players hot at the right time, it can't be expected to keep happening like this. Once Butler can't get to that next level anymore this team may be back in the middle with no real way to get really good again until someone else decides to force their way to Miami.

Pat's comments literally mean nothing. We're less than 10 days removed from a finals loss lmao.

Give it time.

If it's past mid August and we've made no changes, I may start worrying then.

To be fair thats not even touching our first punt. We made the finals and let our starting PF go because we didnt want to pay him 10 mi for 3 years, that was Crowder.

Why would they, they knew they could get Mo Harkless! They even strengthened the position by acquiring 35 year old Trevor Ariza.

We made the Finals without Crowder, made the Finals without Tucker. Those guys are replaceable but nobody whines over spilled milk quite like Heat fans.

No one is freaking out lmaooo

This pathetic/desperate attempt by Portland is comical…we wouldn’t trade bam for dame straight up

This board is honestly just becoming a circle jerk of repeating the Heat’s missteps while completely glossing over the good decisions. Bunch of whiny **** looking for attention.

I don’t think anyone needs to post on the board that we let Crowder and Tucker go lol

We all know that already right?

It's just facts.
19-20 - Made the finals with a legit 4 (you get caught up with it being Crowder, he was just a legit 4)
20-21 - No real 4, went 40-32 in the season, swept in the 1st round of the playoffs.
21-22 - Got a legit 4 in Tucker, went 7 games in the ECF.
22-23 - No legit 4 most of the season, got a vet 4 late in the season who gave them some good minutes at the 4, went 44-32, almost got bounced in the SECOND play-in game then had an incredible run when multiple players got hot at basically the right time... ended the playoffs losing 7 of their last 9 playoff games.

They need a legit 4, it would be nice to have a good 4 but as noted above, they've done well with just a legit 4.

How about drafting Bam….did Riley do that?
