You’d think a Jimmy Butler Stan would appreciate the Heat….I don’t remember Butler even sniffing the Finals, much less a championship, on any of his previous teams.

If we don't have enough to get Dame then we don't have enough to get him. However the Portland "bros" need to get it through their thick heads that they aren't going to get Bam because unlike **** teams that value tanking for the lottery, the Heat try to win and would trade those picks away for proven guys if given the chance.
It's one thing if the team is garbage and rebuilding like it was in 2002/2003 and 2008. Not one coming off a Finals run. But these people live in a different world with a different mentality where tanking and being **** for 5 years is a smart move.
I'm pretty damn confident that the Heat with minor tweaks, no big names, will go much further next few years than anything the Portland can hope to accomplish for the remainder of Lillard's star years.
Most of us think the idea of trading Bam to the Blazers is absurd but also understand Portland being fed up with the media and throwing it right back at us to change the narrative.
Maybe some revenge from them, but it was their guy that went to the media talking about how he would love to play here. Need to take c are of their own house first before throwing daggers at us.

I'm sure Draymond will go wherever he gets the most money from and this flirting with the Lakers may drive up the price GS offers him.

Draymond and AD are redundant. You don't need Dray when you have AD. Their problem is their offense cuz of lack of shooting and POA defender. Paying Draymond is just wasting money and not fixing anything.
Same applies for Heat. We got Bam so we don't need Dray. We need someone with size who can shoot at the 4 position

Riley has been incredible for this franchise, but you can't convince me he's nearly as good for the franchise today as he was 10-15 years ago. If I remember right, younger Riley would be pissed for not winning a championship this year and 2020, not laughing about it during a press conference.
You weren’t microanalyzing his moves 10-15 years ago because you were busy rooting for Jimmy in Chicago, or whoever else you followed back then. A bunch on this board KILLED him for “wasting Wade’s prime” in 08/09, called getting LeBron let alone Bosh a pipe dream.
Microanalyzing? Nah, there's some pretty big wiffs I saw from afar. I had a nice little laugh when Riley gave Whiteside the max and I wasn't following this team at all, did the same thing when Waiters got a sizeable contract after watching him in person in OKC the year before he got to Miami. My god the amount of draft assests that were being offered so Boston could draft Winslow. Matching T.Johnson's contract? Oh, I'm aware of a lot of bad moves by this FO since LeBron screwed Miami and left while also having them draft Napier.
Just illustrates exactly what I was saying, if you were here you'd have just been one of the ones criticizing the moves made at the time even if they set up for something better. What if you were a Hassan fan (yes we actually had those)? You'd be criticizing their inability to build a team around him, instead of his max deal. But instead you're a Jimmy fan, which you know, would be funny if we had more Bam-centric fans (he's a big so harder to come by) and we could watch you argue it out with them about Jimbo choking it up in the Finals where Bam stepped up, while you tell them how Jimmy had to carry Bam in the first couple rounds.
I dunno, after the whole LeBron experience I'm so over player fans.

I think we can all agree all we want to do is win, let me clarify that, win a Championship. How that happens, what crazy path we need to take so be it as long as we can have another parade down here.

Bam is essential to the defense, I'm not sure he's better offensively as a scorer than being a facilitator. Butler isn't carrying both sides of the ball but he plays the lanes well on defense which causes deflections and steals. To upgrade center I'd only consider Jokic or Embiid (think Embiid with Spoelstra coaching him would be a monster in the playoffs).
Miami is one of the better ran franchises in the NBA but it doesn't mean it doesn't have it's warts, if it didn't you probably wouldn't have so many undrafted players filling up the roster. People seem to forget that some of the worst players in the NBA can do well in some type of role, Spoelstra seems to be great figuring out that type of role for each of his players and keeping them in that role. Over Miami fans are very lucky with this franchise but once again, that doesn't mean they do everything correctly. Man... Minnesota fans had their owner making way too many decisions, he even did interviews multiple times during the season giving his opinion on what they needed to do... he's also the only consistent variable during that 14 years of missing the playoffs... nearly 1 1/2 decades.

Fans were excited about trading for Beal, fans were excited about trading for Dame, some were even talking about adding both ... and now fans are ready to knife each other. WTF???

We might as well trade Herro for those two 1st and just keep Simons and Sharpe. Riley frees himself from his two anchors Bam/Herro preventing captain ahab’s ship from nabbing his whales. Now flushed with draft pick booty bait for fresh hunt.

Re: Miami Heat Offseason Thread 3.0: Dame Time
Last thing I'll say before I let y'all get back to the circle ****....
Who brought Butler to Miami? Pat Riley
We know D-Wade was in Butler's ear in Chicago, and that certainly was a factor in Jimmy wanting Miami.
But who actually brought Butler here? Who got him here with no cap space? Who got him here even after Dallas tried to sabotage the trade last minute? Thats right, it was Riley who was able to unload Whiteside's contract and get us Butler.
Butler didn't just magically show up in Miami because DWade hyped us up. Riley made it happen when others wouldn't have gotten it done.

One guy we don’t talk about here who can be a perfect 4 here is siakam, I think he’d be Perfect next to bam
If we can trade herro and picks, filler for siakam and resign strus and Vincent I think we are good to go
Bam/yurt7
Siakam/Highsmith/love
Butler/Caleb
Strus/Robinson
Vincent/Lowry
