Easily one of Neil Olshey's stupidest trades, which is saying something since he's had a lot of them. Covington was nice, but he was never a defensive stopper nor a defensive anchor, and he certainly wasn't worth two first round picks.

What's even funnier is the Blazers current GM (Joe Cronin) dumped Covington and Powell onto the Clippers for basically nothing in return, even though both of them were having good seasons and could each bring back a first round pick at least. Lawrence Frank and Jerry West completely ripped him off, and now he has less assets to work with than before.

Just absolute amateur hour from two terrible GMs.

RoCo is what current Portland fans think OG is lol.

The reasons for the the trade with LAC were financial. value wise POR absolutely ate it on that deal but did move the contract for smaller pieces.

Doesn’t make it a good trade; it wasn’t, but maybe it was the only one on the table at that time.

Can’t even blame them. They haven’t seen a good 3&D player in years. They don’t even know what it looks like

Thybulle doesn’t count? I’d rather keep him for 1/4 the cost.

Where's the "3" in 3+D?!?

But we get your same old boring rant about not wanting our players. Please take the repetition back to your own board already.

So, Thybulle shot .388 from 3 for POR this past year
Anunoby shot .387.

Small sample size but he shot it better for POR than PHI.

But don’t let facts get in the way.

No team in the league needs to upgrade their frontcourt and defense more than the Mavericks. Portland retains #3 while getting Dame that #2 in Siakam. Raps get Sharpe + lottery picks.

This is a horrible trade for everyone except the Raptors, you forgot to add the gallons of lube that the Mavs and Portland would need to make this trade.

Onyeka Okongwu shot 100% from behind the arc this season, guess that makes him the best 3pt shooter in the league.

1/4 the cost? Isn't he RFA? He'll demand more I'm sure

Thybulle took 3.9 attempts per game in POR. OO took 0.2 attempts for .308 bbref.

There's an obvious 3 team trade here with a proven duo that's won a title before

Simons and 3 for PG should do it.

Is Adebayo better than Siakam? Siakam is the better offensive player and can also play D (when he wants to).
