Basically it got down to the one yard line.

Beal asked Pat, will you do what ever it take to win, even paying the tax........silence

Pat asked Beal, will you remove the no trade clause......silence

Then two days later the Suns pop in and finish the deal.

Part of this is satire part of it is reality, who really knows.

Gotcha...seems to me Beal was just set on Phoenix.

Idk if it was KD/Booker in his ear or the agent's son, but when it came down to the moment of truth Beal wanted PHX.

I don't think Dame is available.

Don’t see him wanting to leave Portland.

And, if that continues to be the case - he is a moron. I’ve never seen a player so dedicated to a team that has done nothing to field a competitive roster around him. He’s wasting his talent there. His unwavering loyalty is bizarre to me.

I think it’s fairly apparent. Just flabbergasted that he doesn’t realize that he has 0 shot at a ring playing for such an inept organization.

If he doesn't want to leave then that's his business. If he wants to leave, he can force his way to Miami. If that is where he wants to go then all the Portland media will have to eat the **** sandwich they will get back in return whether they like it or not. Stars go where they want in this league. All he has to say is if you don't trade me to XYZ then I won't show up. Say that to both Portland and any other city he doesn't want to play in. That's how it goes. 20 years later and Raptors fans still cry about Alonzo Mourning forcing a buy out so he could return to Miami.

If that was the case why go thought all this show? The Wiz let him talk to our organization. Everything was pointed to us, heck the Sun were never mentioned. Something clearly happened near the end of the negotiations that made Beal say no. What what is, we can only speculate. We were the front runners. Maybe it was KD/Booker whispering sweet nothings into his ears. Beal was the one in charge of everything, his team was leaking Miami, Miami and Miami. Who knows man, on to Dame hopefully.

Nice little trade can possibly be had with the Clippers

PG Kyle Lowry to Clippers 29.6(expiring)

for

SG Norman Powell 18 per 3yr left on deal
PF Robert Covington 11.6(expiring)

29.6 total equaling Lowry

Assuming here that Clippers would be looking to get off Powell’s deal in order to clean up there cap situation next year. Not sure if a pick would be involved as this would be an 18 million dollar salary dump on us. Powell essentially comes in to replace Strus and be our 6th man and defensive protection behind Herro. Could even play him in the backcourt with Herro. We rehabilitate Covington as our starting 4 much like in the mold of Crowder and Tucker.

Dame and his character will not only choose Miami. Thats the Fatal flaw here. It's not in his character to do what you are asking. He is not a SOB like when Zo disrespected the Raptors. Thats not him. That is his home, he's not going to throw gasoline on it and light a fire. Thats not how he is built. If Dame ever ask out, he will give a list of teams, sure we maybe on the top of the list but it will be one of many teams. Thats the harsh reality here, Dame doesnt have a NTC, he is under contract and he won't destroy his reputation by sitting out. So the real question to ask is can our offer beat team X offer. Thats all that matters when push comes to shove.

RoCo has made a lot of sense for a long time. He'd fit well with what we want from a 4 in our system.

Powell is interesting. He's ignitable. Expires at the end of 2025/26, which coincides with Jimmy (if he opts into his 25/26 PO) and Bam.

This is funnnny MWP!

Youd be crazy not to trade Bam for #3 pick. Since we can wait until Pat dies before that pick becomes a good player. Whew, fanatics at its finest..

Think both would be great fits here and would be putting Lowry’s contract to good use without breaking the caps back. Heat would still have Oladipo and Roco’s 20 mil total coming off the books next year.

To me, I think Miami dodged a bullet with Beal. I don't think he works as hard as the Miami culture of players do. Maybe, the intensity of the Heat workouts spooked him.

Cap specialist, question for you- when do we have to be under the 2nd apron?

Before the start of next season? Or after the end of next season?

I mean, has Beal truly made Wizards better the past 4 years. Does he inspire players to play above their level. No, he is not a Heat type of player.

Once we trade Lowry to the Clippers for RoCo and Powell you waste no time signing Gogi to the minimum to be the backup PG or placeholder to a young development PG prospect like Bouyea. Gogi gets his 7 back and gets to retire right where he belongs

Don't play w/ the fat woman town homer. You'll agitate her into spamming 'how's it taste' all over the board. Imagine Bam get's traded to Portland, she'll slowly phase away frm Heat board & irritate Blazers fans & whine to have everyone traded.
