Varsho defense is worth the headaches with the bat

Kikuchi is our Manoah last year and Manoah is some Kikuchi/Berrios combined monstrosity from last year.

This team is still within striking distance despite all our bitching and complaining. Front office has messed up this build and we have no farm prospects coming. Manager has been meh at managing a poor performing rotation and bullpen and the hitters just can't hit.
This season only turns in to a good season if Vladdy turns it on. He's the key and driver of everything and right now, he just isn't producing. It's really as simple as that. Put 2020 Vlad in this lineup and they're much closer to the O's record and probably even closer to the Rays.
FFS, Vladdy, figure this out.

Seems Chad Green is about to ramp up his pitching, so we ought to see him before the all-star break. That would be a plus. I doubt he's worse than our low leverage guys. Ryu or Manoah providing a solution for that starting role after the all-star break would be a major plus as well. Kirk and Belt ought to be back shortly. So they can certainly hang in there, the question is whether this team can make some noise if they make her post-season. It's not just Vlad who has to get bigger results, Chapman has to ramp up against right handers as well, and one of the catchers has to stay hot longer than a single series.
2019 will never be forgotten because FLAGS FLY FOREVER

Bunting with men on 1st and 3rd with 0 out and with 2 strikes?
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

lol the Jays are so unpredictable

It was Schneider all along.

The nerds were screaming to do that from the stands.

I don't mind changing it up and trying things. KK is the perfect guy to do it. Force the defense to make plays and in the end KK ended up with a single.

Forcing the defense to make plays is something I get my kids under 14 team to do. It's not really something you make professionals do.

Now that's more like it.
Vladdy continues to hit into groundouts. Clearly his mechanics are off. Give him a day or two off or move him down the lineup.

I get that but when you're offense hasn't produced and you are the worse team with Runners in Scoring Position, don't you have to try something?

I guess, but something doesn't need to include bunting with 2 strikes. Something Schneider has done disturbingly frequently and as far as I can recall has never worked previously.

Sorry, just tuned in on the radio. From my understanding it was Heineman - 1st and 3rd - 0 out.
If so, this is monumentally stupid. Schneider's purpose could only have been to avoid the possibility a double play --- in the NEXT at bat. Even a double play turned on Heineman produces a run. Why are we giving up outs at all?? The pitcher is being batted around...
A steal also neutralized a double play, but could have been done IMMEDIATELY - giving BOTH Heineman AND Springer a chance to bring in a run with any sort of contact with 0 out.
Even if Heineman succeeds in the bunt (and tilt the odds against a big inning by surrendering an out) there are a million ways Springer fails to cash in those runners// Pop up. Strike out. Comebacker / hard grounder right at an infielder. Even a decent outcome, like if Springer works a walk -- puts the DP is back in order).
Shows pretty crap faith in Heineman to hit. Chicken sh*t move in front of the whole team while the line was rolling.

I completely missed the part about 2 strikes, so I assume that was Hennemans AB which I would agree with. Shouldn' be trying that with two strikes for sure.

No Varsho in the outfield costs the Jays a couple. Looks like we're determined to blow another massive lead this week.
