poll: eight outcomes; Which picks will be traded / selected?

Post#1 » by drsd » Tue Jun 20, 2023 9:27 pm

Mathematically there are eight outcomes in this draft. Without thinking about the players, what do you think will happen to the picks: trade or select?

These are the eight possibilities.

Take all three picks
Trade 6, select picks 11 and 36
Trade 11, select picks 6 and 36
Trade 36, select picks 6 and 11
Trade 11 and 36, select pick 6
Trade 6 and 36, select pick 11
Trade 6 and 11, select pick 36
Trade all three picks

Personally I think there is a zero percent chance all three picks are kept. But I can tell myself a story on all the other seven possibilities in this draft; including trading away all three. And trading the two FRPs but keeping the SRP.

My vote is keep 6 and 36, and trade 11.
(( 36 is for the third two-way slot ))

Trading 36 and keeping the other two. No way these guys can keep even more scrubs on the roster.

Given how this team is still trying to rebuild I doubt the 6th and 11th picks are traded. There is a chance the second rounder is traded since those are typically not highly regarded.

I predict this as the winner. Let's see how it goes.

For me, I cannot see the Magic taking two FRPs. This teams need experiences, not rookies. I pick "keep 6 not 11" as talent matters. So keeping the up-top pick makes some sense.

THere is one rumor after the next that the Magic is looking at draft trades.

I'd be fine trading all 3 depending on what I could get. But I think we pick 6 trade the other 2. 36 is def getting traded. No doubt in my mind.

#36 is 100% getting traded for a future second (hopefully two but who are we kidding) and cash considerations.

My gut tells me we move down a bit with #11 as well, and then select Jordan Hawkins.

Trade 11 and 36 is very plausible.

yea i would offer dallas 36 and bol to move to 10 ..they would still have 11 to trade while adding 2 low cost options they need
magic dont need both and 1 less player off board

Not highly regarded by the Magic. Pick 36 has plenty of value. Those first 10 picks or so of the 2nd round generally get guaranteed salaries. Contenders love these picks because they can add depth to their rosters on the cheap. Our FO would rather add fringe NBA players as depth. use the two ways to add depth, they get an extra one going forward.

Maybe even get all the way up to 8. Washington could use the extra pick, and Bol is at least interesting on a team in need of a tear down.

I can't recall a draft that has some many untrusting options at the top of the second round!

Orlando could very well be drafting to strengthen the Osceola roster here!
