Both posturing right now

I think its more likely the Blazer’s said no. Why would they trade a good asset for Siakam who can just get up and leave next summer. Would be embarrassing for them. Same issue with OG.

Both parties want more for them to pull the trigger hence why theres been so much noise

with pascal there would a wink wink agreement already in place to sign an extension in july.
with og its more dificult, you can talk to him and find out what he wants and such but they cannot sign till next year(if he wants more than 140%) (if he is willing for 140% i would rather keep him)

If our team chemistry improves, we move the ball more, and just one of our poor 3pt shooters becomes average, we'll be a top 5 seed.

If we do the Pascal for #3 pick, we probably need to give them our 13th pick. Just play around with other picks and salaries after that

well i doubt Bam would be even remotely effective as a 1st option. he's pretty one dimensional on offense.

why does 1st option on offense matter for either players? neither are top 20 offensive players(impact) in the league.

Bam is more valuable than Pascal overall because he is far superior defensively at a position which allows more lineups outputs out there. Pascal is better than Bam on offense obviously but he is just not that great of an offensive player even if he is playing of a better offensive player. He just is never going to be that efficient of a scorer due to his shot diet and pull up ability. Impact stats would say FVV been the best offensive player on this team last 2 years btw.

I think Bam with Lillard > Lillard/Pascal personally due to him doing a lot of **** Dray does for Curry on offense (screening/short roll playrmaker, relocation passing). Pat wouldn't trade him though.

Where are you seeing this? Last year (first half of season) we had the worst half-court offense in the league by far when Siakam was off the floor.

Rockets half-court: 89.3 off rtg (29th in league)

Raptors without Siakam: 83.9 off rtg

With Siakam we were really bad. Without Siakam we were one of the worst offensive half-court teams of all-time.

EPM/Darko/bball index/Raptor all have FVV as more impactful player on offense (I don't necessarily buy it this season but he was definitely better than Pascal on offense last year in RS).

Why are you focusing on first half of the season? lineup data in small sample is useless.

Edit: I am not saying FVV is better than Siakam because I factor in roles. I am just showing that stats see Siakam as a 2a/2b type on offense. You can't be a league average scorer (Ts) with that usage and be very impactful on offense unless you are at least giving Ja playmaking/creation at rim.

Yeah you probably were thinking the same thing during the 2013-2015 seasons when we had two first round exits.

You’re essentially saying Pascal is only worth a 10 spot jump in the lottery. There’s no way we should include #13

If this whole Portland trade hinges on them getting our 13th pick as well. I think I would do it. Give them Siakam and 13, we get Scoot and Simons.

Real changes need to be made and we can’t be hardline over a late lotto pick when we’re getting back arguably the 2nd best prospect of the draft.

How would you possibly know if his value is higher now in the off-season vs. February at the trade deadline when you have no idea what the trade discussions are? Why exactly are you complaining without having all the information available?

In the presser after the trade deadline, as reported by the Toronto Star, on why the summer is a better time for big deals than the trade deadline, Masai said: “In the summer, there’s 29 losers and one winner. So there’s 29 teams looking to do more.

So there wasn't an assurance but Masai clearly alluded to more opportunities to trade in the summer hence better deals to be had.

If I'm the Blazers I'm not making that deal without an extension in place.

I bet they take the risk and do it if the frame work involves both Siakam and OG for #3, Simons and scraps .

According to the tweet, Siakam is unwilling to provide assurance that he would sign an extension with Portland. That being the case, then Portland's risk in trading for Siakam is that he'd only be a 1-year rental which would make it a bad deal.

So offering the #13 to Portland would be payment to them for assuming this risk. It all depends on how Masai values that #3.

If we give #13 we should get #23 back at least

This whole thread and the one before it hinges on the Blazers actually thinking Siakam is that good and will be worth the salary increase he is up for. We may all just be wasting a lot of time like we do with the draft thread where Masai never does what we think he will.

I can't wait to see everyone's reaction when Siakam is still on this team after tomorrow's draft

I don't think anyone in the top 10 is trading their pick, maybe with the exception of DAL. These picks are rarely traded because teams overvalue them. You will be able to grab a lot of these players picked in the top 10 a couple years later for half the cost when reality sets in.

Lmaooo he’s definitely staying. Bet the raptors would be more interested in trading for Dame than trading away Pascal.

well all that depends on if the 3rd pick is traded or not and if its traded for similar or worse player.
