According to the tweet, Siakam is unwilling to provide assurance that he would sign an extension with Portland. That being the case, then Portland's risk in trading for Siakam is that he'd only be a 1-year rental which would make it a bad deal.

So offering the #13 to Portland would be payment to them for assuming this risk. It all depends on how Masai values that #3.

The concept of negotiating leverage appears to elude this front office. They seem to rely on other people's desperation which can fluctuate dramatically. Time moves on though.

Poeltl, Siakam, FVV and GTJ will all return most likely. This was always the most likely scenario when all three guys were retained and the Raptors used a first rounder on a big man who can't shoot.

Let's all pray this doesn't happen. Last thing we need is a BC type of team. The new coach isn't going to break habits out of our veteran players.

If everyone is retained, was there any serious desire to sell off assets? I'd remind everyone the Poeltl trade was executed well before the deadline. If you're still in the process of selling, you wouldn't buy well before that point in time.

One of Fred OG, Pascal won't return imho, OR if they all do, they trade gtj in July.

i would do keegan murray and mitchell for siakam. I dont think siakam re signs here and we aren't winning anything next season.

Keegan isn't middling. He was a 4th overall pick and he is legit good. The word middling used around here is really inappropriate.
