Murray is overrated and has had questionable off court issues. I’d rather keep Siakam at that point.

If a deal does go down we are getting Murray to replace FVV....then you have Barnes/OG/Jak as your potential front court....We need Griffin/Bog back to add depth for us ....Maybe even 15 if we can squeeze that out of them....But i doubt it is that luxurious of a deal considering how many picks they gave up to get Murray...

Murray/Griffin/Bog prolly the realistic package here....Hawks not giving up more than that since they want to remain competitive if they make this deal....Maybe Hunter gets added as well but we will see.

Pascal Siakam
Speaking of All-Stars, Siakam was heavily discussed with the Blazers in talks for the No.3 pick.

Yahoo’s Jake Fischer reported Tuesday that the Blazers were not interested in either Siakam or OG Anunoby.

Some further context on that is interesting, however. Before I share that, a reminder that everyone is constantly spinning this time of year, and the truth is often a little obscured if not caked completely in mud.

With that said, there are two competing narratives on the talks. Portland has projected that they were unsure about paying Siakam a new max contract. League sources, on the other hand, have suggested that Siakam was unwilling to provide assurances he would re-sign next summer.

Regardless, with the Blazers off the table, there have been no other serious talks with the Raptors (that I’ve heard about, I’m sure there have been some). There’s a belief that the Raptors will run it back yet again. Those things can change quickly, but that’s where I believe we’re at right now.

https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/nba-trade-rumors-latest-intel-zach-lavine-kyle-kuzma-fred-vanvleet-free-agency-2023

As I previously said, assumption was always that Pascal would resign. If he won’t give that assurance, then no, Blazers aren’t giving up those assets whether it be Sharpe or #3 or Simons or whatever

Is this saying Pascal knows he's part of Portland trade talks and have had extension talks with Portland?

If so, even if we don't trade him to Portland, we may not want to keep him around if this rubs him the wrong way and we lose him for nothing next year.

His next contract will be big though, so maybe no competitive team will have the cap space to sign him outright without a S & T.

Could be as simple as Pascal to Masai in the debrief that should he be trade don’t expect him to give assurance that he will resign .

Therefore while discussing a deal (informal), the other GM ask Masai if there is a chance that Siakam can give assurance that will resign . Masai says he can’t . Deal is stopped . No more discussion. Portland and Toronto move without knowing if any side was really serious

I am speculating here what I think would make sense .

He trashed the Spurs on the way out. Had that whole conversation unnecessary drama with Banchero that he instigated. He had one more thing too… can’t remember.

There have not been any issues....But when he was growing up he was in a bad neighborhood around gangs....But hes 27 now with a long stretch of NBA years under him without any problems that i know of....Maybe cause he looks like Chris Brown? i have not heard of any Murray issues off court since he entered the NBA though....Besides being competitive with Banchero in a summer game run...But all basketball players talk trash to eachother in these kind of games....Not just him

He’s not that good. He’ll cause even more spacing issues and are the Raps really going to pay $30-40 mill to re-sign him?

I rather just keep Siakam.

That Banchero stuff...summer league runs stuff. I mean, these dudes are pros and go at each other. Young dudes get big brothered all day.

Trashing a former team on the way out? Not sure there was exactly any trashing after resigning and then getting dealt a season later.

The Banchero thing was just 2 players being competitive....These things happen everyday off camera in Basketball games....Would you label DeMar DeRozan as having off court issues? He literally trash talks & almost fought someone in a summer run....Wasn't even a guy in the NBA was just some random guy....Also yelled at a ref and kicked the ball in a summer run....But thats just how NBA players are wired or the ones that want to win every game.....

He then took the Banchero stuff off the court to
Social media.

I’m not saying the guy is morant. But there are some questions about his maturity.

And he’s really just not THAT good

Well, the Raptors have players that really just aren't THAT good. Some are better than others. Can question the maturity level of a lot of players around the NBA, Raps included.

Either way, back on topic with the Blazers.

Trade for Sharpe.

I think Dejounte would flourish as the lead guard

tbh i feel its basically Siakam vs OG at who we will keep and trade.....Its known OG asked for a bigger role on the team and as long as Siakam is here he will never get that role he wants....Both have expiring contracts....

Getting Murray would open up OGs game alot and give him more room to grow and possible he resigns long term with us...Murray in means FVV/Siakam out would open up OG to have a breakout year.

Trading Siakam for Dejounte doesn’t address the core issue of this team being low ceiling. We’re just swapping 2nd tier stars. If the Hawks gave us Griffin, their pick this year, and a bunch of future picks I might consider it.

There will deff be other players coming our way....I think this deal if we do not get the 3rd pick (And thats looking likely no deal with Blazers goes down)....Murray/Siakam Swap makes sense in terms of us trying to stay competitive while adding a guy who fits the team a little better...

In terms of fit Murray with OG/Barnes fits a whole lot better on the court overall and lets Barnes go to his natural position or you play him exactly like you played Siakam where he can bring the ball up sometimes...

OG would get a boost as well opening him up to being way more of a offensive player since FVV/Siakam would be gone...Also Murray is 3 years younger than Siakam so there is that...

If this deal does go through though i predict....Murray/Hunter or Bog/Griffin or 15th pick is going to be the ultimate package Masai will ask for ....Will Hawks do it we shall see...

But on paper imo Murray fits better if FVV is leaving us in FA .

Masai would only trade Siakam for Giannis or for Joker.
