I love Smart. It was and will always be a rollercoaster of emotions with him but I’m so disappointed to see him go.

Brogdon isn't better at that than Smart is. The opposite, if anything. Ditto Pritchard.
That's what I'm saying. We need to add another PG to this roster who can dribble, drive and dish.

Dont know if this trade means that the staff has a lot of faith in PP. If they had he would've gotten more play minutes in the playoffs.

One thing is for sure. They have more faith in White though. He is more secure with the ball and can run the offense when needed. But that still doesn't change the fact that we really need a true pg to this roster.

I love Smart and hate it that he has been traded but that's us talking as fans. But for a GM, this was a good move by Brad roster wise. The Jay's + Smart made this team too stagnant offensively.

Smart could've been our Draymond Green.

The difference between Dray and Smart is Dray knows his limitations.

Smart had this tendency to want to take over games when it's winning time.

Dray always made sure Steph or Klay gets a chance to make the winning shot.

Tough one. Hate to see Marcus Smart leave Boston. Everything has a beginning, middle and an end. Sad this is the end of Marcus Smart's time in Boston. My Mom's favorite player.

Love or hate Smart. Not sure how one can argue Porzingas and a couple of picks essentially for him. You have to do it. Period.

I'll just say this. I was ready. I was ready for Boston to move on from Smart. I love this trade and I think in time many of the Smart lovers on this board will like the trade as well.
Listen, Smart was the ultimate, "NO, NO, YES!" player. People want to talk about his hustle plays. But think back....Many of those hustle plays are making up for his turnover 10 seconds prior. Or one of his ill-advised shots.
The Celtics have really struggled with consistency. IMO, a lot of that has to do with the inconsistency of Marcus Smart.

Thank you to Marcus for his passion to the team and to the city of Boston.

All of this applies to Brown as well.

Waiting on hearing of him being traded today.

In my eyes, the Grizzlies are finally legit now with Smart on board.

This has brought me out of my hiatus. I love the player and always rooted for him to live up to the draft status and hoped his game would at some point match the impact he seemed to have on the outcome. His heart and energy will be missed as will his ability to step up in bigs spots. The fact that a team was willing to give up what they did for him is a fitting tribute to the player he has become. Would have loved for him to stay a Celtic forever but Brad cashed in and I can’t blame him.

I HATE this trade. Marcus was indeed the heart and soul of this team. His energy, leadership, bullish tenacity, non-stop effort, his "motor", no quit mentality . . . will be sorely missed. I'm gonna go on record saying this deal will come back to haunt us BIG TIME! The intangibles Smart brought to this team will undoubtedly have ripple effects up and down the roster. Zinger is a nice add and will fit well if/when healthy. But that's the problem - he spends to much time on the shelf. Smart, on the other hand, has played through countless injuries. Lots of love for Marcus, my 5th favorite Celtic of all time (championship or no championship) behind Reggie Lewis, Russel, Pierce, and KG. Now I gotta run out and find a Marcus Memphis jersey :-)

Fair, but in Brown's defense, he has changed and molded his game almost every year. Smart has been basically the same player for many years. So I still have hope that JB learns to play to his strengths and avoid his weaknesses. But I can also see just moving on. We can't wait forever, our window is now.
