It is reported that the Magic look to trade either Suggs or Anthony if one of the combo-guards is selected. But said player is a bench player for the rookie year even under that scenario.

To answer your question, if Black is selected, Anthony would be traded and Black would be Orlando's primary backup PG in the 2023/24 season.

I just don’t see it with it Black. Every time I watch him I just don’t come away feeling like he’s our guy.

Defensively I see him but everywhere else I just don’t see anything that stands out. At times he doesn’t seem fluid at all as well.

I’m leaning towards Ausar if we stay at 6 rn. I’m still hoping we trade up though.

I believe we should trade 6, but if we keep it Amen or Ausar would he the best utilisation of the asset, imo.

I'm leaning towards Black, Cam, or Walker with the 6th pick.

Last year at this time we were all pretty convinced Jabari was going to be on our roster at the end of the night. If we kept silent our No. 1 pick, I don't think we've shown our hands this year, either.

Does anyone happen to know approximately how many people typically go to these draft parties at Amway? In the hundreds or thousands?
Also any insight as to whether Gringos will be open? :)

If we get Black we can get amped for his FTr, defense, IQ, and versatility. I actually really like him, he's regarded as a top college prospect by a lot of analysts I respect.

If they take Black, it seems pretty likely that one of Fultz/Anthony (realistically Anthony) will be moved either tonight or within the next 7-10 days.

To be fair, I've always believed Anthony was likely to be dealt given he is extension eligible soon. If the Magic do draft Black, I wonder if the Magic intend to package Anthony or Suggs and the #11 to add some depth elsewhere.

Also, the amount of Black traction that came out today was a little odd. I wouldn't be surprised if it was all smoke like last year and Jabari Smith.
What was the Anthony Black quote please, can't find it anywhere?

Honesty I rather keep what we have than take Black. Just not seeing it.

I wouldn't be surprised if we reached for Grady at #6. I know popular convention is he's the Magic pick at 11 if he's there, but not sure they'll want to wait on that. We could really use a sharp shooter.

I'm a UCF grad but even I don't think Hendricks should go as high as #6. Heck, i'm not sure i'd take him at #11. I'm surprised how high he's risen. Some have him going as high as #5.

I think that's the one thing that gives me pause with outright hating an Anthony Black pick - Scouts seem to think his shooting form can be fixed, and that a lot of his troubles came from trying to do too much with a bad supporting cast and bad spacing in college. The thought of pairing his fantastic passing with Paolo and Franz would help open things up a bit. There is also positional versatility in having him play some SG if Suggs continues to be unable assume the mantle of starter.

That said, it's likely going to be some time to get him contributing to where his draft slot would be. That is going to be extremely difficult to stomach as Magic fans, watching other players putting up tons of stats while Black refines his distance shooting form from the ground up alongside Suggs and Fultz. I also personally think this team needs more lead dogs who can relieve some of that scoring/alpha pressure off of Franz and Paolo.

This all said, the biggest disappointment to me is if the Magic punt on either the 6 and 11 picks because they think they don't need to use them. I hope we get two solid shots at finding a contributor, or use them to trade up to nab one solid target.

Suggs must have considerably more trade value than Cole, right?

By the way, does anyone know if drafting and stashing 2nd round picks in Europe is still a thing? It used to be all the rage, but now it feels like it barely happens anymore. I'm guessing players and agents would rather get on nba contracts quickly and closer to those second and third contracts.

If we keep #36 somehow, wouldn't mind some Vukcevic action and keep him in Europe for an extra season or two.
